It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like

Did you think I was going to say Christmas?

Yesterday morning was all about creating a web around the front porch. I wanted to do it while Simon was at school so he could come home to a surprise.

I started with a bunch of bags of webbing from Target.

It went up pretty well. One side is definitely better than the other as I got the hang of stretching it out. I used about six bags and have some left over for the inevitable updates it will need since I did it a couple weeks before Halloween.

I brought my computer outside so I could do a bit of work too - the weather was awesome. Lily was helping of course.

After I finished I waited inside by the window so I could see Simon's reaction as he got off the bus.

"Where did that web come from?" he wanted to know first thing.

One brief touch.

And then he was off to check out the Lego catalog that came in the mail on Monday.

How fun for you and Simon. The porch looks great and it's so big, your house is pretty too love all the windows. Did you use a timer to get your photos of you or was Chris home, they came out good. I especially like the one of you on the porch and Lily right there but not in the way, how did you do that? Love the sweater & boots you have on. Happy Fall and Happy Halloween Decorating!

Great photo opportunity. I love Halloween. I don't have a porch, so I can't do this cool stuff. Just a pumpkin on the step, a scarecrow tied to a post, and a decoration on the door.

That web looks awesome, especially with the pumpkins and the bats. The expression on your son's face is priceless.
Also love your self-takens (I'm presuming they are anyway). Great composition.

Love this! It also reminds me of my kids when they were little. I would do something and imagine how thrilled they were going to be. I got about the same reaction and then they were off to something else! This is a wonderful decoration. Beautiful porch.

We had a Halloween birthday carnival a few weeks ago for my daughter and two friends - 30 kids over at our house! We did a bit of decorating then, but I think it's time to pull out the webs. You're inspiring! :)

What a fantastic expression. Great to capture that look of surprise on Simon's face.

The pumpkins around your entrance look nice. I like the way they extend on either side of the front door. I'll have to keep that arrangement in mind.

I'm really enjoying your dual blog format too. It works.

How fun! Love his face when he sees the web! I'm hoping my little guy will be into Legos when he gets old enough. My daughter never was interested but I loved them as a child. I told my husband I was going to be a Lego pusher for this one ;)
