December Daily 2010 | Keeping Your Eyes Open

I've been keeping my eyes open for little bits of this and that which can possibly be added to my album in December.

In the image above I've got a coffee cup cover from Starbucks (not sure the wording on there could be any more perfect) and the bottom tags are from an early gift I receive from a friend from West Elm. Not sure I'll use them but they sure look cool. I've got a little bag of these goodies on my desk just waiting to be used.

Here's a few other things on my list to share with you today:

  • There's so much visual inspiration out there this time of year. The catalogs are even more inspiring than usual - I've been pulling out pages to put in my holiday inspiration binder (great posts here from Molly and Marta on setting up your own).

  • Working on a tutorial post for working with the 6x8 digital layered templates - needing to pick up some ink today for my printer to get some samples ready to show. Hope to have that up this weekend or early next week.

  • A thought I shared on Facebook + Twitter this morning: Don't stress if you album feels "disjointed" right now. Your own photos and words will tie it all together.

  • I absolutely loved seeing all the links to your foundation albums! Thank you for sharing your creations. I can't wait to see those books filled with the images and stories of December.

There's definitely still time to put your own December Daily album together. Go here for more information.

Two years ago I used part of a bag from Trader Joe's (Ali used it too) and they have the same bag this year. It's brown paper bag colored with white Christmas words on it. So cute!

Ali, I just want to say THANK YOU for challenging me! I've been scrapbooking for 14 years and the last 4/5 yrs I've kinda laid it down and "packed it up". I just chose not to make time for it. But for some reason :) I got excited about this years December Daily project. I just couldn't stop looking at the pages and reading all the FAQs. So...I plunged in! I'm sitting here right now surrounded by stuff I haven't played with in YEARS and having SO. MUCH. FUN. I'm loving everything I'm making and I'm giddy with excitement!!! Thank you so much for bringing this part of my heart out again. May you be blessed this holiday season! :)

I was just waiting for you to comment on the Starbucks coffee sleeves. The first time I saw it I thought to myself," Let's see what ALi's going to do with that!"

I have to keep reminding myself not to keep "wishing" this last week (and then some) of November away ... I can't wait to start filling my book! I have all my digi template pages ready to go and I think I'm going to just print them each day (or every few days). Right now my book is just a bunch of plain cardstock waiting for some love ;-)

I have an idea for using those cup covers on a small tag book to hold our favorite family holiday stories. . .everyone contributing a story to a tag and holding them together with bits of ribbon or a jump ring. . .

Saved that cup cover too a few weeks ago...and I hardly paper scrap anymore, but it was just too perfect.
Haven't tackled a December Daily yet. Just still a little too daunting! Love seeing your inspiration though. Even if I transfer it over to digi ;)

I am using the sleeves to hold notecards with story starter questions. On Thanksgiving I will pass it around and have each guest share a story. Thanks for helping me live a creative life!

I am gathering several of the coffee cozys. They make wonderful gift card holders or easy holiday cards. I've used them different years, but I do especially love this year's sentiment.

I haven't had a chance to put my pages together yet & am feeling very behind! I've been collecting supplies for over a month, but just can't seem to get started...

Thank you for all of the inspiration that you provide to us!

hello everyone! add me to the list of people who don't go to Starbucks, but think I need to now :) I realized I had saved something though , and now I know where to put it! the front of a McDonalds bag said "spread the joy" and in the middle of the O was a happy meal. it's promoting Ronald mcDonald House Charities, but the word JOY caught my eye.
    Great ideas here!!

Ali, I'm a barista at starbucks, and when I saw the new christmas products and the sleeves earlier in october, I actually immediately thought of you and how perfect this one for wrapping up your year (considering that your word of the year was Story)
    Cheers!

Handed my sister a couple of Starbuck's sleeves this past weekend and said, "Thought you would want these for your December Daily." She replied with a laugh, "You read Ali's blog!" Ahhhh...nope...I hadn't checked AE for a couple of days and the sleeves had been in my purse for over a week. Saw the sleeve and thought to myself, "These are PERFECT for the Dec Daily project! *smile*

    Ali,

It's funny that you posted the cup warmer from Starbucks...I've been collecting them for the past couple of weeks (yes, I go to Starbucks way TOOOOOOOO much), and I figured they could be used for something. LOL The DD would be perfect. I plan on joining in on the fun this year as last year when I wanted to, I was sick most of the month and didn't have the time or energy. But I'll keep you posted on my progress! :)
