Loving

Loving Anna doing yoga.

Loving me doing yoga.

Loving how many times The Wizard of Oz has been watched since Christmas.

Loving the community that's developing around One Little Word (the class has open enrollment throughout the year so it's definitely not too late if you're interested in joining).

Loving that Project Life is now on my kitchen counter. I'll give an update in a post next week.

Loving reading through Karen Maezen Miller's blog archives and being inspired in all sorts of ways.

Loving commitments that I'm making to myself and keeping.

Loving that I roasted beets as a side dish for dinner the other night and Simon liked them (the kind of like where you can't help but smile when asked).

Loving that my parents will be here for Simon's birthday later this month. He will be 9.

Loving that I've got a date with a friend next week.

Loving that I'm almost done with the book Sabbath and I've enjoyed it so much I want to start it again.

Loving that it's almost the weekend and Simon and I are planning to take a test-run at doing some stop-animation with his legos.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks for sharing these little loves. I went to Karen's blog and I love Karen's recent quote "Attention can do anything, because attention is love." Exactly right. I remember a post you did about making snacks and how you thought about all the time your mom spent doing that type of thing. How it was what needed to be done even though your mind might be wanting to run other directions and you had all these things "you" wanted to do. That whole discussion was so poignant to me. Again thanks for helping me remember how life can be lived.

I'm loving the OLW community too! We have a really inspiring teacher. ;)

I hope you'll share some of the Lego stop-animation. Sounds like fun! Do you have to have a certain software to do that? (I have a PC.)

I'm ready to put away my Christmas scrap stuff too - but I really feel like I should finish my DecDaily album first. lol Can't wait to see yours completed! :)

You have the absolute best pictures of Anna. I thought nothing could top the picture of her and your husband in your December daily album where she looks so surprised, but this one is close second. How fun!

I so love my yoga class. It can be so hard but I always feel good after. And I really needed it the other day. From the moment I woke up everything seemed out of order and wrong. My yoga class put it all back into perspective and calmed every part of me down - something that was really required that day!!

I have spread the buzz about One Little Word, in fact a graphic designer I work alongside was blown away by your website. He dug the whole idea of the OLW concept, I could see the wheels in his head turning. As far as Yoga, I have considered and may just break out of my fear of the anything related to exercise and go to a class at our local community center.
I suggest roasting brussel sprouts and carrots-they are delicious. A little olive oil, salt and pepper. Yummy.

Ali, I don't know how else to get to you -- love the pic of A doing yoga by the way. Went to a cool presentation last night with Charlie by his prof (who will hopefully direct his PhD). It was at the "Creative Cauldron" in Falls Church, she's on the board of directors. She believes our brain wants/needs stories; she uses some research she did with the Great Apes in Iowa -- bonobos -- apparently you can find Youtube videos -- we saw one last night. Her research is with "twice exceptional" children -- high IQs + some learning disability, her specialty is autism. Anyway, her work is neuroscience and since you do so much with story telling I wanted to share this, her name is Layne Kalbenfleish (or some spelling close to that). Charlie is thinking of doing his research on the brain needing stories as its only way to actually learn. OK, you can let me know if you are interested in more. Bestests, Mary

Both my sons used to do this, and I SO wish I knew then what I know now that getting down on the floor and taking that once-in-a-lifetime, always-to-be-cherished photo is priceless. Better late than never! Your picture of Anna reminded me of this. Thanks!

I love this photo of Anna. So sweet. I started pre-natal yoga this week (yeah, little late, but at least I'll get a few weeks) and it felt SO GOOD. I have missed the mat.

My son, who is 9 next month, and I did a stop motion video with his toys. All I did was push the shutter release. He did everything else. We loved it and want to do more. I hope you share yours.
