AE | The Weekend Lens
This past weekend Chris was away on a business adventure so it was just me and the kids.
Sometimes when it's just me and them we hole-up here and never leave the house, wearing our PJ's all weekend.
This time though, I was ready to be out and about (probably had something to do with all the work I did last week).
Attending.
Brushing.
Watching.
Hiking.
Observing.
Jumping.
Throwing.
Swimming.
Climbing.
Chatting.
Waiting.
Driving.
Chasing.
And not pictured: eating, arguing, reading, drawing, emailing, calling, sleeping, shopping, building, etc.
It was good. I'm tired, but it was good.
In case you missed the announcement last Friday my new self-paced class Scrapbook On The Road is now available for just $14. All the details are available here.
Good Monday Morning Ali,
I always love your weekend in the lens photos. So nice to see you outside with the kids and the dog all on your own, you are brave. I enjoyed seeing the outdoor pictures since we just got snow again this weekend. So many snow pictures are filling up my project life so I made sure not to capture any this weekend. What fun Simon must have had at school for Dr.Suess birthday this week. Loved all the pictures.
Was this at a park or just some walking trails nearby, it looks wonderful and the perfect place to take kids on an adventure.

I'm loving the one word descriptions! Thanks for sharing your fun weekend.
Me too, Heather. The one word discriptions are awesome. I might just have to incorporate that into my pictures.

Good Morning to you and your loved ones!
I just love your photos and that you share those little details of your life with us through pictures and short blips of info. It makes ME nostalgic... these are memories in the making.
Random techy question:
I was looking through some of your old posts (Scrapbooking with your computer)and was wondering:
1. Have you started using a software program to organize your digital files or do you still use your folder structure? I'm in the process of trying to organize my oodles of stuff I've downloaded and keep downloading and my head is spinning.
2. What external hard drive(s) do you use that you've found to work for you?
Have a great Monday!
Hi Rosa - thanks for the questions. I'm still using a file-based system and it's still working fine for me. The external drives I use are LaCie 1TB and 2TB. They have been great.

I'm full of questions today.
Do you mind sharing what camera and lens you took these photos with? :)
I use a Canon 5D - the lens is a 24-70. I've also got a FAQ that includes my main equipment if you want to check it again in the future: http://aliedwards.com/about-ali/faq

I love the photos, Ali! And there are so many with Lily! I love that! It looks like you all had a fun weekend. It is hard having the kids all on your own. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy outside together. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! ~Jen

Friday was March 4th, the only date that is a sentence, a directive really - March forth!. I have been calling it VERB DAY for several years and we try to do active things that day. Looks like you had a whole verby weekend.
Ok, that is really awesome.

Observing and Driving HAVE to make it onto your walls somehow. They are priceless!!

Bought your class last week when it was up. I'm loving it! Making my own album with your class for an upcoming trip to Key West (using my own stash). Can't wait to have it done and packed away for the trip later this month.

Hi Julie - indefinitely (unless I completely shut my site down which I have no plans to do). My plan is to build up a few different classes and just leave them up.

Dear Ali,
I too am glad for the extra TSA training in some airports that help with autistic children. My husband lost his job as a computer scientist and took the only job he could get 7 years ago. He is a screener (over qualified) at our local airport. TSA screeners get a lot of abuse (like some wait staff at restaurants) for things they cannot control. I encourage readers to be kind to them too as they have specific rules they have to follow or they are fired or docked in pay. Thanks
Absolutely - I think we could all do with a little extra empathy in all our interactions.

Hi Ali,
Your weekend sounded just lovely, especially the hiking. It's been so cold (and snowy!) here in Chicago; I cannot wait to get outside again!
Quick question regarding the picture where Anna is "watching" - where did you get the small table & chair (with white top) set? I am looking for one for my son (who is Anna's age). I'd appreciate any information you can give me on it.
Tahnks! Have a wonderful week!
Target :). Just got it about two weeks ago. http://bit.ly/dOcThR

Funny, no matter what our life situation, some times w/o spouse are for staying in and other times I find I'm totally on the go.
Love that determined stride of your little blond hiker. I can imagine Simon more as a 'flaneur'. ;)

Love the outdoor pictures. It makes me homesick for the greener colours and slightly warmer climates of the west coast than the way below freezing that we have here in Alberta Canada! It's been a long time since we've been able to go out hiking!
And it's so fun to see Anna in on all the action!

Love the jumping shot. Anna is just too cute!
I was looking at those Geomag toys for a birthday gift for my son's friend but was worried about the balls. Do they come off?

Looks like a fun weekend. We tried to see Cat in the Hat last weekend but I think everybody else In town had the same idea.

Ali not only are you a great mom, artist and overall person but a wonderful pet owner too. Love that Lilly and I know she had a great time just being outdoors with you. Wow what a awesome "pet mom" to possibly put a wet dog in your car. Thanks for sharing.

I'm looking at these pics, and I'm thinking how crazy it is, that you and I were pregs with the girls at the same time, and now our girls are these walking, talking, social *real* people now. SO weird. I was just marveling at how quickly the time goes by.

Love these photos!
Quick question: I'm always in love with Simon and Anna's striped pajamas. Would you mind sharing where you got them?
Sorry if this has been answered before now. In my defense... I did a search. ;-) LOL.
Hi Reyanna - they are from http://www.hannaandersson.com and they are seriously the BEST PJ's.
