GIVEAWAY | Two people will each receive a spot in the Up & Running Summer 5K Beginners Course, which starts on 13 June.

Up & Running provides unique online running classes for women. If you've always thought running was reserved for sporty types with bouncing ponytails, we're here to help you discover that running is for everyone. Our 5K Beginners Course is not the usual boring "walk 5 mins, run 5 minutes" program. We offer expert coaching from renowned coach Julia Jones, unlimited support from our community forums, and a mind and body approach that has been tried and tested with thousands of women around the world. Whether you've dabbled in running before or completely new to exercise, we'll not only help you start running safely, we'll get your mind in the right place too.

"Up & Running really has been the best thing I have done for myself in years, and not just for the running. My confidence and happiness in my own skin has increased so much and I love what my body can DO, rather than obsessing about what it looks like."

Homemade is always best, but you won't get arrested by the cake police if you get a little help from Betty Crocker.

One word says it all: Love. Because with that go patience, kindness, forgiveness. She was the best mom on the planet.

My mom always told me there is a time for everything and at that time you need to do that - a time to study, a time to get married and a time to have kids. I always said, yeah yeah but pay me to go back to school and I don't think I could do it :)

Ali, I am not adding this to enter for the contest, but this video of an older autistic young man is so inspiring. They call him the Human Camera. I have been so much more attuned to autism since starting to read your blog and I thought you might enjoy seeing this amazing young man:

My mom taught me that just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you always have to share it. It's served me well to remember that over the years.

My mother worked hard all of her life and didn't always have time to be concerned over small details. She always said, "who will know 100 years from now." I find myself thinking about this often.
Would love to win any of these great prizes, Thanks, Kathy

My mom taught me to take care of myself by showing on her own example how she forgot about herself and devoted it all to others...

My mum always taught me to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" She taught me through her words and actions and I strive to do the same thing with my children. I think it is such an important lesson to care for and consider others.

My Mom taught me that "honesty is the best policy". And it has gotten me through so many difficulties. Untruths blow up like balloons and then burst into little pieces that you can no longer contain. As I see some famous people struggle with their lives because of the lies they have told, I think how lucky I am that my Mom insisted on honesty!

My mom taught me how to be a gracious hostess. She entertained often and always with grace and kindness, even if the people did not deserve it. She taught me the value of hard work and I appreciate her even more now that I'm a mother myself.

That a girl can be anything she wants to be - so I set my sights on being the first woman Supreme Court Justice. I was the first girl in my 4th grade class to run and win 4th grade president. Justice O'Connor beat me, but I never let anyone tell me I could not do something.

Great give away...fascinated with learning about composition of collage.

I kept hearing my mothers voice in my head telling me to always remember to breathe! This especially came true for me when I was going thru my divorce. My darkest days my mom would "speak" to me to remind me to breathe. I tell all my friends who are going thru "dark days" to breathe & breathe deeply! It really works.

Take time for yourself, specifically 'quiet' time. In the busyness that is our lives; we need the quiet time to contemplate, to be calm, sometimes to just be.

I find it difficult to find that quiet day most days, but when I do, I can feel the difference in my day to day life. I am more purposeful, less reactionary.

    Happy Mother's Day, Ali.

The only real mom I had in my life was my grandmother. She passed away when I was 12. But until that time she taught me so much. I attribute my love for art, fashion, and all things creative to her. She taught me to sew, crochet, paint, garden, and could find a designer sale better than anyone I know. Now I try to pass on that same passion. I adore scrapbooking. It is a way to use all sorts of medium, textiles, textures, fibers, and incorporate all of that with everything I love. Im a grandma now myself and I feel my grandmothers spirit when I look at them. I cant wait to pass on everything she taught me.

My mom taught me to love others! TO be kind and nice no matter what! It has helped me get thru when I have had people that were less than kind to me. If I love them then I can forgive them much more easily!

My mom has always been great at letting me express myself..whether it was my mismatched clothing when I was young or my crazy paintings as I got older...she helped empower me to be creative, which probably led me to my life as an art teacher & allows me to encourage my daughter to do the same....

My Mom inspired a love of Play, art, music and theater, all of which I still enjoy today. I became a grown up first because my mom was so much like child. Then I learned to play.
