IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE, WELCOME! Normally a process post like this would happen over on my Projects blog but since this one includes a giveaway it's happening here (and there's lots of December Daily goodness happening over there). If you'd like to learn more about my site check out my Welcome or About Ali pages.

Here's a look at a stamp I love from the new catalog and the one I'm using in my layout today:

Hello zig zag!

I decided to do a page that highlights some of the things I love about Anna right now.

Here's a look at my process:

I used the new Hero Arts Zig Zag stamp to create a pattern on my white cardstock with Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum and Malted Milk inks. I didn't stress about making it perfect because I knew I would be adding content on top.

I started by adding a sticker border (Sassafras for Studio Calico) along the bottom - popping it up with foam dots.

I knew I wanted the title to read "Things I love" and I hoped it would fit in that space. Chipboard letters are American Crafts Goodness by Amy Tangerine.

Photo is 4x6 and was printed with a white border.

And yes, another one of those wood flags is popping up here. I love those things.

"Beautiful" is from a set of GCD Studios Melody Ross Soul Food Collection Chipboard Stickers.

For the journaling I used one of my Awakening 4x6 overlays. I opened it in Photoshop, added my text and printed on cardstock.

Along the bottom of the overlay I added a bit of washi tape (I think that came in a Studio Calico kit), her initials in those great little Lily Bee alphabet letter stickers, and an old metal arrow (I think from 7gypsies). Love those arrows. Someone should make those again.

My favorite holiday tradition would be the mad wrapping on Christmas Eve. I mean I am usually awake until about 4 am. How incredible my body aches in the morning, but my heart if full when the girls come down and see the tree exploding with surprise.
    Fun stuff!

My favorite tradition is Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. When I was a kid it was a rite of passage when you were old enough to go with the grown-ups. As an adult it always helps to bring the reason for the holiday back into focus after the mad rush of the month. Thanks for the chance to win.

My mom started a tradion of giving my sister and me an ornament each year when we decorated the tree. The ornamnet usually represented something we did or a trip we took that year. Now my husband and I continue that tradition with our daughter.

My favorite holiday tradition is writing the clues for our kids to find their gifts on Christmas morning! We have 4 kids so they receive 3 gifts a piece. To make it a production (and not be over in 15 minutes ;) ), I write little poems or clues to lead them to their gifts. It's been a favorite thing for me and my husband. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.

And those Hero Art stamps are great too. My favorite holiday tradition is buying presents for my family. We are still establishing traditons actually.

My favorite holiday tradition is our little Elf on the Shelf. My daughter loves getting up each morning and looking for what mischief he created the night before. It brings an extra little bit of magic.

Hello! Can I just say that Anna is growing up cuter every day! My favorite traditions include my daughters. Decorating the tree, baking, planning secrets for everyone, and of course doing advent calendars to count the days until baby Jesus comes. I hope your holidays are full of joy and blessings this year.

I totally love those stamps :)

I love all the family traditions we've built up over the years - decorating the tree together, going to the Christmas Eve children's service then having mulled wine when we get home, leaving out a mince pie and glass of ginger wine for Santa, doing my Journal Your Christmas/December Daily memory-keeping...

I think my absolute fave though is my church's carol service the Sunday before Christmas. I'm in the choir, and I just love singing out all these beautiful songs of praise and celebration. My husband and kids come along as part of the congregation so it's a lovely family thing to do. And this year my son will be doing one of the readings, which is a happy bonus! :)

I have so many favorite traditions, but this weekend I am looking forward to wrapping gifts with my Mom, something we have done together since I went to college 12 years ago. Now my sister-in-law is joining us too!

What a very cool background stamp you used for Anna's layout! My favorite holiday tradition is watching the Christmas movies, both the ones the kids are so excited to see because we only pull them out at Christmas like Rudolph and The Very First Noel AND the ones I watched with my mom growing up such as The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
