July Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop
Welcome to the July Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop!
Each month the TT Studio AE design team each create projects featuring the new stamp set. These stamps are available individually ($19.99) or as part of a monthly auto-ship subscription program ($14.99).
This month's stamp set is called Summer Rocks:
DIGITAL MEMORY KEEPERS | If you are into digital scrapbooking or like to add word art directly to your photos you can purchase digital sets used for these stamps here: Summer Rocks and Summer Sentiment Stacks.
Here's my layout for this month:
Around the outside edge of this layout I used a combination of Pure Fabric Tape Set and Bella Blvd Yellow Chevron Designer Tape to secure the two pages together.
This page started with a 12x12 piece of white Bazzill cardstock that I'd run through my Silhouette for some of these hand-drawn circles. I liked the randomness of the left-over sheet and the fact that the circles aren't perfect.
I took that piece and used Bella Blvd washi tape to adhere the top to the bottom while I figured out what content I was going to sandwich between the two.
I printed my photos with the Epson Picturemate Show (love and totally recommend this little printer) as 3x3 squares and then worked on placing them behind the cut-out circles.
You can see the layout in progress above as I was moving things around, adding and subtracting and covering and re-stamping.
The end result was a combination of photos behind the circles and other circle embellishments placed inside the larger circles.
To create circles from pattern papers I used the Marvy 2-inch Circle Punch.
The"bring on the sun" circle includes BasicGrey Daisy Mae 12X12 Pb&J Paper + this month's stamp set (Summer Rocks). I stamped and then drew a circle around the stamped sentiment.
That great blue circle is from BasicGrey Paper Cottage Printed Chipboard with an "A" added on top from Studio Calico's Abroad Anywhere Natural Chipboard Thicker Stickers.
I used my Brother sewing machine to add stitching to the stamped sentiments.
The flower/circle accents is from Cosmo Cricket 23 Collection Chipboard and is on top of BasicGrey Sunny Day 12X12 Pb&J Paper.
I placed a Studio Calico Abroad Flair Embellishments on top of American Crafts Lovely Afternoon Vellum 12X12 Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper.
The paper to the left is Fancy Pants Flocked Transparency 12X12 Be You Paper with a bit of stitching on top.
As you can see above I hand-stitched some embroidery floss around the flair button.
Here's a look at the full page again:
The Moments circle is from Crate Paper's Tag Cuts.
I also added hand-drawn circles with sentiments to the outside of some of the circle areas.

This inspires me to look beyond my self-posed "documentation pause" and makes me excited to play with my photos sometime in the future.
I was getting all worked up with not making Project Life "properly happen" for me so I decided to kick all expectations and concentrate on finding the joy in taking photos again - and just living life without the nagging thoughts of "I have to make something with this leftover tea bag wrapper".
Aaah. I thank you for your ongoing examples and proof of how (and that!) this can all come together, Ali. Life - stories - photos - thoughts.
