December Daily 2012 Pre-Order Now Available

It's time to start thinking about December Daily again!

I'll be using a Studio Calico kit as a base for my album again this year and it's now available for pre-order.

Wondering what December Daily is all about? Check out my compilation page here.

And yes, it's going to be a 4x6 linen-covered album that includes chipboard, page protectors and thick plain overlays/transparencies.

WHY 4x6?

  • To mix things up! I've been doing this for a number of years now and I'm ready to swtich things up again. I'm interested in trying out a smaller size.

  • To simplify it just a bit. Each year so many people start this project with great intentions but never complete it. Even though I've completed it each year I'd like to find a way to simplify a few things for people (such as using the most common photo size) to help you enjoy the awesome feeling of confidence that comes from actually finishing a project!

I designed an exclusive stamps set for Technique Tuesday that's included in the kit this year:

And here's a peek at some of the other supplies included (the kit will also include an exclusive 6x6 paper pack from designed by Studio Calico):

A full list of supplies and more details are available over at Studio Calico.

Printable overlays like I've done in the past will be available at Designer Digitals soon (and I'll be doing them in a variety of sizes including 4x6).

Later next month I'll be sharing my foundation pages - I usually get my album base-pages set up in advance to simplify the process in December.

Have pre-ordered the kit. I'm sad to say my December Daily from last year is not finished off yet. It's on the to do list along with uploading my WITL to Blurb. I will finish this before December comes along. Everything is printed on plain paper, just need to get it printed professionally on the nice paper. I'm excited about the 4x6 this year because as you say, it's easy for everyone then to get a bunch printed and keep up. Looking forward to seeing your foundation pages.

Perfect! I've done December daily for 4 years now and it is something I love! That being said I also value the idea of mixing it up with the 4x6 and keeping it simple. Seems like an extra Christmas blessing. :)

Hi Ali! Loving the smaller size this year! I've only succeeded in 2010 in completing a December Daily, completely failed last year, and hoping for a better outcome this year.:) Anyway, for those of us who can't afford to purchase the kit, can you direct us in the direction of where we can purchase a 4x6 ring album? I would love to order one now before the rush. Lol. Thanks.

Jumping with joy to read this post!! I can't wait to see what you do with the 6x4 format. I hadn't really considered that size but you are so right that it's a size that is works for everyone.

So excited Ali!! Last year was my first and I enjoyed it so much! I let myself get the kit this year since I used all the Christmas stuff I had on hand with last year's DD. So you're making the printed overlays in multiple sizes? Including 6x8? That's the size I used last year and would like to use that size again in the future. Can't wait to get the overlays! I loved seeing yours last year.

Thank you Ali for choosing to do a 6x4 size, the bigger sizes are a little daunting to me. I've done Dec Daily digitaly for the past two years but I decided this year was going to be the year of paper...lol. Just pre-ordered the Studio Calico kit, so super excited for this year's December Daily :)

Just preordered. I love my iPad! Hopefully I will actually complete my album this year. I love the concept so much, but the follow through on my behalf is lacking. Thanks, Ali, for thinking of people like me and looking for ways to keep it simple.

I want to try your December Daily. However, I don't do digital/computer scrapping. Will it still work for me?

You definitely don't need to do digital scrapbooking to do a December Daily. I'll be using some printed elements and be adding word art to my photos, but people do it all kinds of different ways - totally up to you and what you want to make of it!

Ali, Have you set up your base pages yet? I searched your blog, but didn't see it. I want to do this for the first time this year, but need some examples to help me along. I'd like to get it set-up in advance also!

    Thanks!

I missed the preorder :( but was wondering if you had any suggestions for a different album to use. I'm doing the 4x6 size and have completed my foundation pages, but have not been successful in finding a suitable album. I'm very excited for December!
