AE Travel Lens | Ireland 2012, Part Two
I arrived home safe and sound from Ireland on Sunday night after one of those crazy long 24+ hour days of travel.
In looking back through my photos a couple themes really stood out: landscapes (along with clouds & sky) and yellow. I expected the wide open landscapes and those awesome places where sky and sea or land meet, but the yellow was a bit of a surprise.
I like being surprised.
The landscapes:
The yellow:
Such a fun adventure. I love checking out new places - especially with a wonderful collection of new and old friends.
Once again this year one of my most favorite parts of the trip was the laughter. I love watching people let themselves be delighted and open up to the experience of travel, meeting new people, going with the flow, experiencing a different culture, etc.
Now it's time to catch up on things around here and hug my kids a million times.
Looking for some adventure with like-minded memory keepers? Next November (2o13 - not during US Thanksgiving) I'll be doing another trip with Jim West/Scrapmap to China. More details available here.
Absolutely loved the pops of yellow in your photos. Yellow is brilliantly happy color! A bit of departure from all the green.

I am in Ireland now and noticed that that you were in places that we had been earlier in the day. It is so beautiful here. We go home on Saturday. The landscapes are beautiful and I can't believe how many photos we have taken.

So glad you enjoyed my beautiful country! It's lovely to see other people appreciate what we sometimes take for granted. I think the mountain in the background of the top photo with you in it might be the one my grandmother's house looks out onto (near Cong?) - my kids know we're nearly there when they see that mountain and the lake comes into view. It's like following Dora's map! I'm sure your little ones are delighted you are home safely too. Thanks for sharing.

Such great pictures you took! You are right, the landscape in Ireland really is a beautiful spectacle! Did you enjoy the Cliffs of Moher? Where you able to stop by Bunratty Castle while in County Clare? What parts of Ireland were you in? The Cliffs are near my Dad's hometown and my husband is from Tipperary. Made me homesick to see them all! Thank you for sharing!!

I, too, have lots of yellow in my photos from Ireland - mostly houses and doors. I loved the doors of Dublin, so many colors, but I did love that pop of yellow jumping out here and there.

I began scrapbooking because of a desire to do something with all of my beautiful landscape photos from Ireland. Though it uses tons of style and techniques lifts of the published scrappers of the time and I would certainly do it differently now, it remains one of my favorite albums. Your photos make me want to break it out and reminisce.

Delighted that you enjoyed your trip here. I'm in Dublin and don't think I will ever get tired of the beautiful views around. I grew up in the village of Enniskerry, where Powerscourt Gardens are. I think you might have visited there and walked through the Avoca shops. We used to run through the fields there and sneak into the gardens in the summer. Good times! I hope you can make it back sometime for a masterclass in Scrapbooking while you are here :-)
