December Daily™ 2012 | Day Thirteen + Hero Arts Blog Hop

In addition to sharing today's December Daily™ spread I'm also participating in 2013 Hero Arts Catalog Blog Hop.

The stamp I'm using from their set of new releases is the Looped Flower Pattern (CG504).

Here's a look at my spread with an embossed vellum page as an insert.

To create the vellum insert page I stamped the background stamp using Versamark on vellum and then dumped some Silver Zing Glitter (embossing glitter) on top before cooking it with the heat gun. I love that silver Zing. Love it.

The heat embossing worked really well on the vellum.

I then cut it to the same size as my photo (about 7.25 x 4.25) and added Hardcover Silver Thickers along the end (and stitched them down for good measure). Those Hardcover Silver Thickers are currently on clearance at Scrapbook.com. I picked these up at JoAnn's yesterday.

"Celebrating December" and "Tis The Season" are part of my December Daily™ stamp set and also got the same embossing treatment.

Here's a look at the back:

Behind the stamped vellum page I added an overlay from Hambly + some of those little silver stars I can't stop using.

I also added a little strip of the stamp (embossed) along the bottom of the journal card. The lines were drawn with a Faber-Castell Silver PITT Artist Pen (awesome).

On top of the photo I drew a line with that same silver pen and added a silver thicker + a cute button from the Studio Calico kit.

GIVEAWAY | Hero Arts will be giving away several prize packs, with winners randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received by midnight PST on Monday, December 17. Feel free to leave a comment below to enter.

Love the embossed look on vellum. I'm definitely going to have to get that stamp and use the heat embossing technique with it.

This is such a great technique. I have never embossed on velum before but have seen it done. I must really give this a try. I so love the versatility of Hero Arts stamps and you & Kelly just proved it to me. Her post used the same stamp and the two outcomes are so different. Love it that the possiblities are endless. Thanks for the chance to play along.Hugs.
