Day In The Life 2013 | February Reminder
Here's your reminder that I'll be continuing with my monthly 2013 Day In The Life project next week on Thursday, February 28th.
I'm including this monthly documentation in with Project Life but it would also work great in a traditional album as well.
HELPFUL LINKS + ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Read about how this project got started here.
-
Download free Daily Sheets for documenting your day. - Purchase my Day In The Life layered template set and 6x12 Day In The Life Photo Collage set and check out my free video tutorial on how to work with those templates in Photoshop Elements.
- Check out my Day In The Life 2013 | January post. You can also check out how I incorporated it into my completed Week Five Project Life spread.
-
6x12 format not for you? Check out my 8.5x11 Day In The Life layered template that's great for incorporating a bunch of photos. See how I used that in 2012 here (simply combined the 8.5x11 photo collage template + the Daily Sheets with my hand-written documentation together in Project Life 2012 | Week Six).
I'll actually be traveling on this particular day next week and am looking forward to documenting a travel and work day.
Hope you'll consider participating!
I love the 6x12 template, but where do you get them printed? I tried putting it on a 8 x 12 canvas and printing it at Costco, thinking I could trim the extra off of each, but they still cropped it where it was not the full 6x12.
Hi Deiga - I print them here at home on an Epson R2000 printer. To get around the cropping at a service provider like that I would create my 6x12 page and when it was all done I'd move it onto a 8x12 canvas (file/new/8x12 at 300dpi) and then save that whole thing as a JPG. Is that what you did last time?
Persnickety Prints offers a 6x12 option, if you're interested in ordering prints online. (I am unaffiliated with them, just happy with the service I've received the few times I've used them.)
I use Costco too, but I put both 6x12 layouts on a 12x12 canvas and print at Costco. Works like a charm!
I printed at home. But since I only had photo paper in A4 format (i.e. not 12'' tall) I "cut" the layout in two halves (two pieces, 6x6 each) and printed each piece on A4 photo paper. Then I put them back into a 6x12 layout by adhering onto a 6x12 piece of cardstock.

In January I did the day in the life with Ali and loved the end results. Since day in the life falls again on a week day (a work day for my family), I asked my hubby if he would do day in the life...I will make it easy for him by printing out the day sheet, and he could just jot down what he does throughout the day. He also agreed to take some pics. Using Ali's templates, we don't need too many pics, if he takes 5 pics throughout the day, that is actually more than enough. I think this will give another perspective instead of just being only my day in the life each month in 2013. Luckily, March day in the life falls on the weekend, so that will change things up a bit from our weekly day in the life. I also plan to have my daughter, who is away at college, do the April day in the life.
So love that idea.

I need to do this! Last year I tried to do it on the 12th of each month, but it only happened two times! oh well! at least those two full days are documented! I love doing this though!

Ali, thanks for the intro. I'll have to allocate some proper time to this to get up to speed! Got plenty of great photos to choose from, that was the easy bit!

I decided to jump the gun and did it last week, because I ended up with a ton of pictures on Friday since we had a really busy day. I was trying to figure out how to fit them all into my PL album then I thought -- why not do my "day in the life" today?! I ended up printing it 5.5x8.5 because I happened to have a page protector that size and I love how it turned out. Thanks, again, Ali for the continued inspiration!

What a fabulous idea!! I don't know how I missed January but I will start with feb & do the whole year. I always do the Week in the Life and adore that. It'll be fun to see how everything changes from month to month:) I don't "do" project life because its just too much for me to tackle right now so I think this will be the next best thing:)

You mentioned that you use to do a week in review and moved to the day in review. Do you have a weekly and monthly template available? I love the idea but can't keep up with a daily one.

All in all, I like her. Yes, I think she is dramatic at times, but it seems like everyday communication includes a little showmanship to convery your message. Ill tell you, she seems to have a great style! I like her!

Hello friend. I really just like your article along with your current internet site all in all! Your piece of writing is actually extremely plainly written as well as very easily understandable. Your WP theme is wonderful as well! Would be great to know exactly where I can download this. If possible keep up the good work. We need far more such site owners such as you online and much fewer spammers. Wonderful mate!

Hey, nice blog with good info. I really like coming back here often. There?s only one thing that annoys me and that is the misfunctioning of comment posting. I usually get to 500 error page, and have to do the post twice. Giving up smoking is easyIve done it hundreds of times. Mark Twain 1835 1910
