For The Love Of Sweet Lily Girl

Our sweet Lily girl passed away peacefully yesterday after an awesome last run on the beach she loved so much.

She was the most fabulous friend and we will miss her everyday. She had a wonderfully full life during her 12+ years with us. She especially loved going hunting with Chris or my Dad, running on the beach, and hanging out with me in my office.

She was my constant companion and was by my side during all the best and most challenging times. I had the thought today that maybe she stayed around (she was very sick in the summer of 2011 but pulled through) to be with me during the time I needed her most.

I am so thankful she was a part of my life.

Love you Lily girl. Thank you.

So sorry your Lily has passed on. Hoping and praying for you and your family. It has been 4 years since we had to say goodbye to our girl. It is not easy. I think the quiet of the house was the hardest for me. Hoping you will be okay....knowing oyu will but it will take time.
    hugs...

So sorry for your loss! I remember seeing Lily very early on in visiting your blog. I lost my black lab last year, and feel the same way, she hung on despite failing health to be there for me. This is when scrapbooking means so much more, having all these pics and stories.

I am so sorry to hear about Lily. It amazes me at how much they know when you need them the most. Even without words, they always seem to know the right advice to give.

((HUG)) to you Ali. I fear our dog is nearing the end of his life and it makes me sad to know he won't be sitting on the front porch much longer greeting me when i get home from work. Sorry for your loss....

Ali, so sorry that you have lost Lily. I am certain she hung around a couple of extra years to be by your side when you needed her most. Dogs seem to have an amazing people understanding. You wrote such a beautiful piece about her, and I know she was fortunate to have enjoyed her life with you. May your tears lighten as the days pass even though I know nothing will quite fill that place in your heart that belongs to Lily.

Ali, I'm so sorry for your loss. I too had a dog that was old but seemed to hang on until I came home after my stroke and was strong enough to make it on my own. That's how much our dogs love us.

I'm glad Lily had one last run on the beach and that you had 12 wonderful years with her. Hugs to your family.

No dog lives for forever. Sounds like Lily was a great companion for many years. The fact she got to go out after a run on the beach speaks volumes. Your heart breaks but then you think about all the great memories. This too shall pass.
    Aloha, Kate
