Katie's Wedding Photos

Hey guys this is Katie - I'm so excited to finally share my wedding photos with you all.

We've been waiting to share in this space because Style Me Pretty featured our wedding last week. This was an honor and a dream come true for me! If you aren't familiar with their website, they offer so much inspiration and helpful information for brides-to-be.

When we first started planning, I learned about our venue, Camp Lane from one of my Mom's coworkers. When I first saw the pictures of this place, I immediately knew this was where I wanted to get married. We booked an appointment to go see it and it was love at first sight for both of us. This place was showcasing Oregon at it's best. Camp Lane is a organizational camp that has been used for the last 50- 60 years. It's basically a summer camp that can now be rented out to any group. There is 17 acres of fields, cabins, yurts and a one of a kind mess-hall, lodge type building that has a giant fireplace. It's pretty dreamy.

Leading up to the day we planned to have the ceremony out in one of the fields and have the reception outside as well, but two days before the wedding, mother nature decided to change the forecast and pour 12 inches of rain in that part of Oregon that weekend. That is the most rain that has ever been recorded there, EVER!

It was a hard pill to swallow that everything I had pictured happening outside was not going to happen. I actually shut myself in a room alone for 20 minutes and had a good long cry. But, we were moving forward and there was nothing else to do but embrace it.

We thankfully had a perfect indoor option for the ceremony and it turned out to be exactly the way it was meant to be. Intimate, small and filled with love. Walking down the aisle, holding my Dad's hand, I was bursting with joy as I saw all of the faces of my friends and family. It was magic.

We decided to write our own vows and keep them simple, short and sweet. We headed out to an undercover area for the reception. Pete's aunt and uncle catered all of the food for us, and it was amazing. We headed back indoors after dinner and danced the night away.

This entire year has been filled with extreme highs and lows, growth and so many learning experiences.
