December Daily® 2015 | Day Seventeen
Welcome to December Daily® 2015 | Day 17.
A bit of a delayed posting today because I ended up with a terrible ear infection yesterday that knocked me out for the whole day. Seriously crazy how painful it was - I definitely have a renewed sensitivity for those little kids that have a bunch of ear infections. Ouch. Feeling a bit better today now that the meds have kicked in (the pain portion is under control, now it's just plugged up) and will be taking it easy as we move into the week of Christmas.
Day 17 originally included on of the white tags - I decided to take it out and just use a date stamp on top of a label sticker for the date.
Here's a look at my Day 17:
Black letter stickers were included in the Mini Kit from Kelly Purkey. Red journal card is from the Jasmine Jones Mini Kit. The label sticker is from the Main Kit and the black and white washi tape along the bottom is part of a December Shop release of new products that will be available next week (new stamps, journal cards, more large chipboard alphas, and washi tape).
Today is a great example of keeping it simple: words + a photo + a few embellishments. I handwrote my journaling first and underlined second.

Ali, thank you for sharing the perfection as well as the boo-boos. You inspire me to relax and let go of my high expectations re: scrapping. I hope you recover quickly so that you can fully enjoy the Christmas week.

I hope you feel at 100% soon. It's hard to be sick, let alone near the holidays. Hope too you're able to enjoy the new Star Wars. My kids are going Sunday. Looking forward to seeing the new releases, too, just in time for Christmas money, yay me. Really like that washi tape. Anyway, be well. Michelle t

Ali, I hope you feel better real soon. Thanks for inspiring me to document the everyday stories in December even if we are under the weather. It makes for a more complete story.

Ali, I hope you feel better soon. As someone who suffers from chronic ear infections, I understand your pain. Take it easy and get some rest! As always, thank you for your inspiration and dedication.

Oh Ali, this sounds miserable and I'm so glad you got meds. Take good care of you, everything here will be there when you get better, you know? :-)
Love and light,

Ugh, is right! It's the worst being sick around the holidays! Be good to yourself and feel better fast!

Amazed that you still took the time to make a video, even as you recover from a day in bed. Go you! Feel better soon.

Ear aches are the worse! I had one a few years ago and cried it hurt so bad...Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon :(

Hope you keep feeling better. I had shingles in my ear a few years back and I would have gladly cut off my head for a few days there. Absolutely no fun.

First, Feel better soon.
Second, Thank you for doing as page not holiday centered. We all have days that just aren't holiday centered during December. Whether it be because of illness, too busy, nothing holiday related going on, or just grocery shopping. I've noticed that others have been concerned if there isn't a holiday thing going on to document. A month ago today, we moved 1500 miles and don't know many people or what activities are happening in the area. I've taken photos our decorations, Christmas CD,s and DVD's we've enjoyed and our one Christmas card that has caught up with us. There have been mostly non-holiday pages for me this year. It doesn't bother me because my DD represents our life this year.

So sad to hear you aren't feeling well. I detected problems for a few days in your videos. Guess it settled in your ear. Take care. I'm sure you'll finish your book by January, either way.

I hope you get feeling better soon. It seems that everyone around us has been sick with something the past few months, including us, with hacking coughs or head colds. We're still sick, but persevering. I liked that you included that in your book. It's real life, and bears remembering that not everything at this time of year goes as planned!

I hope your ear infection clears up soon! Anything dealing with the ear can be really disorienting. I had sudden hearing loss in my ear a year or so ago and it was really strange hearing everything through my one good ear. I spent the day at the dentist today because I cracked a tooth last night and was thinking I really should document it. I did have the receptionist take a photo of me in the chair with my toddler trying to climb on me but it was really unflattering:) Don't our bodies know they aren't supposed to have problems around Christmas?
And a good snuggle cat always makes things better.

Praying that you'll have a speedy recovery for Christmas :D You are such an inspiration, we'll be fine with what you have accomplished so far. Take care of you and yours instead, we'll still be here when you are feeling better!

More wishes for a speedy recovery. Thanks for the reminder that the picture that goes with a story doesn't have to be exactly the same subject. I sometimes struggle with picture for stories that don't have any. I like the simplicity of this page. It's just right.
