December Daily® 2017 | Day 05
Welcome to December Daily® 2017 | Day 05.
Showing up today with a little story about self-care this month. This past year has been really awesome for me in terms of putting my health/wellness first (you can read more about my Wellness Journey here) but the last couple months have been more of a challenge as the weather changed and as my workload ramped up and our wedding/familymoon.
Yesterday I finally removed myself from my office chair and put on my tennis shoes and walked out the door for my 3-mile loop.
And it felt so darn good.
So that became my story.
Here's a look at what Day 05 looked like when I put together my foundation pages:
You can read more about these family story interview tags and download a template on my Foundation Pages post.
For today's story I cut a 6x8, 4-pocket page protector in half and attached an Index Tab along the edge. The "currently" stamp set is included with the Daily Words Stamp Set.
The large plastic 5 is from the Numbers Story Kit™ (in the video I mention it's from a Week In The Life™ Kit but that was a mistake).
My photo for today was from my walk - holding up a big leaf I had picked up from the ground.
Gold stars were added both the front and the back of the plastic 5.
Behind the photo I created a journal card in Photoshop to tell my little self-care story. See below for a free download of this word art and a journaling card.
I used a rolling date stamp to add the date.
A simple, meaningful-to-me, story for today.

SHARING FOR 2017
This year I'd love to invite you to leave a link in the comment section if you'd like to share your daily pages. As usual, please include a direct link to your blog post vs. a general blog address link.
For more inspiration on working with products for this project, check out my December Daily® Product Play workshop - registration is still open with immediate access to all the content.
Always a good idea to include a story about yourself, if possible ... although I am definitely not that good usually at taking my own advice! I have Days 1-5 here: https://thiswestlondonlife.com/2017/12/06/december-daily-days-1-5/

I really love that you even refer to it as Selfcare. Most self care activities I do (if any) I actually feel guilty about and feel I have to rush them so as not to take myself away from anyone. Even my (almost) daily 1/2 hour run I feel guilty about. “I should be cooking dinner” , “I should be helping with homework” and so on. But when I do do it I feel mentally refreshed and energised to do a better job of those things. Go figure .... here is my day 5 http://www.petracorcoran.com/december-daily-2017-day-5/

Thank you for the free download! I ventured out into the cold last night for a yoga class I desperately needed and took photos to use in a self care spread today - perfect timing!

Ali-thank you for the free card! Is there any way to keep it with your digital files I already own that are linked with your site instead of having it just download directly to the computer? I would just like it together with your other files so I know it's there in my account but I'm not digital savvy! I have purchased your hybrid class but haven't watched it yet so there is hope. Thank you!

Thank you for the card, Ali. My journaling from yesterday includes that I did not make time for my walk yesterday.....it's been awhile a nd just trying to get back at it.

I'm glad for the exercise of looking for the beauty and celebration in the ordinary days. The last two days were not really the most merry, but when I sat and thought there were good stories in there and that is a good gift from the project too.
Here are Days 3-5 with today's story yet to be completed. http://athomewiththerichardsfamily.blogspot.com/2017/12/december-daily-days-3-5.html
