2023 Subscription Updates | This is Going To Be Fun
We are excited to reveal new changes to our Stories By The Month™ subscription and provide important pricing updates as we prepare for an incredible year of storytelling in 2023. Read below for a full overview of what you can expect on December 10th, 2022 and beyond.
Get ready for the official launch of our newest subscription, Inspiration By The Month™, coming on December 10th. This online class subscription will include the digital version of Stories By The Month™ and inspirational lessons using both the physical and digital kit by members of the Ali Edwards community.
We’re excited to welcome Lisa Varshine, Krystal Idunate, and Jen Wong as contributors for this class. Each of them will be sharing their projects and process videos. We will be looking for opportunities to invite other community members to contribute in 2023!
Inspiration By The Month™ will be replacing the digital Stories By The Month Subscription™. If you are a current digital Stories By The Month™ subscriber, your subscription will roll over to Inspiration By The Month™ automatically and the price will remain the same at $9.99 per month.
We’re also excited to announce that all physical Stories By The Month™ kit subscribers will be given access to the Inspiration By The Month™ class content as part of your subscription. Physical Stories By The Month kit subscribers will still have the opportunity to add on the digital Stories By There Month kit to their orders for $5 during the add on period.
Stories By The Month™ Exciting updates are coming to the Stories By The Month™ kit product assortment, based on subscriber survey responses and feedback. You can still expect to see a similar collection of products as before, but you will now notice 6x8 papers/vellum and a variety of embellishments.
As a physical kit subscriber your subscription now includes access to the Inspiration By The Month™class content.

This sounds great! I'm especially happy to see the addition of 6x8 papers! I do wish there were a way to subscribe to the digital SBTM kit and not need to remember to add it every month. I already get the physical SBTM kit and the Story Kit and Story Stamp (which does include the digital Story kit automatically). I find myself puzzling every month, trying to remember which digital I need to add, and trying to remember later if I actually did add it!

Are the new papers for in pocket or outside of the pocket pages?
These are the same size as we have been offering in other projects: 7 x 8.25. Most of the time they can be cut down to 6x8 (and sometimes they are better cut up and added on a new background - if that makes sense).

If you are a story kit and monthly scrapbook kit subscriber, will the digital kits for both of these (SBTM and IBTM) be available as an add on option still?
Thanks for your question! Moving forward the option to add on a digital version of a physical kit will only be available to corresponding physical kit subscribers. For example, if you are a physical SBTM subscriber you will be able to add the digital version of the kit during the add-on period for $5. If you are a physical Story Kit™ subscriber you will be able to add on the digital Story Kit™ during the add on period for $10. If you are not a physical SBTM kit subscriber, you would need to subscribe to Inspiration By The Month™ to access those digitals. If you decided to subscribe the the physical SBTM kit, you would be able to purchase the digitals kit for $5 during the add on period.

Will there be any repeating cards/elements in the SBTM kits?
The 3x8 journal card will repeat with the new month and one 3x4 card with "details" and the month will repeat.

I really love the designs but I wish they were sized down a bit so you don’t lose any detail if cutting them down to fit inside the page protector. The January details card especially.

Yes, I agree. It’s fine to change things up - as long as they can still be adaptable for those of us using pocket pages/inside the page protector. Otherwise we are paying more for kit we can use less of.

So having read through - menopausal brain struggling with the details. If you are not a physical subscriber to any kits you cannot add on a digital kit. I currently subscribe to the physical kits of Story Kit and Stamp and add on the digital SBTM but will no longer be able to do that - have I understood this correctly? IBTM is the digital version of SBTM but with class content included as well? Very exciting.
Hi! Happy to help! If you subscribe to IBTM you will get the digital kit + access to the class. Going forward only physical kit subscribers will be able to add the digital during the add on period ONLY if they sub to the physical kit.

Thank you, Ali, for your response to Kaybree. I use my 12x12 SBTM kits for Project Life (I LOVED the 2022 kits), but there is not a lot I can use in pockets in this format, if the papers and the 3x8 cards can not be cut down; definitely not enough for more than one spread a month.
Hi! I’m planning to do a short video later today showing how I would use this kit in pockets! We are also adding embellishments that will give you more flexibility in creating journal cards to fit your stories (especially with the stamps included).
Agreed. This change is going to be difficult to use for pocket pages —and you are right - if we can cut things down without losing the design, it’s still going to end up being less product for pages (at increased cost).

Super excited to see this. I love that the class will be added to the physical kit. I’m too tech challenged to do much digital.
Will shipping still be the same? (Specifically for canada).
Also do you provide reminders via email for the add on period?
Shipping is the same! Reminders are currently sent via email and will continue (check your junk or spam folder + if you haven’t been getting them reach out to our Customer Service team).

So exciting! I love that there will be class content for the SBTM & new papers are always awesome! So happy that the digital SBTM will still be available for $5 in the add-on... but as someone said above, it would be nice if we could add that automatically as an option (maybe a SBTM Physical/Digital & class option for $5 more).
Question - As a current subscriber, do I need to do anything or will everything go forward automatically like in past years?

Will the stamp set always be the corresponding month with numbers, or is this just for January?
January just has numbers - the other months have other designs. The JAN stamp in the box will be repeated each month with the specific month.

Are there only 4 3x4" cards and 3 6x4" cards each month?! This seems way more expensive for significantly less product each month. I use a monthly kit for 12x12" pocket pages/Project Life, and it doesn't sound like I'm going to have enough for a full week of spreads, much less a full month, which means I'll need to pay more for additional subscriptions elsewhere as well. Also, are all of the color schemes changing, so I can't mix and match with extra product from previous years? I'm usually a fan of the updates made, but this one is a little baffling to me. I'll do my best to make it work, and I am excited to see the community projects again for this kit.
Color schemes are remaining the same or very similar with slight adjustments to previous years. It might just be that there's a pinkish cast to this image. And thank you for the feedback!

I use this kit for pocket PL. It seems like the bigger papers can't be cut down to fit into the pockets. Are all the months going to be like that? I feel like I can't use half of the product any more. :(
Hi! The large rectangles on the pattern paper are 6x4 inches (so can be cut to be used in a pocket). The one with "brand new year" is vellum and can be cut to 6x8 if you wanted to add it to a pocket. In the coming months the vellum will be patterns (so you can cut it any way you want) and the pattern paper will include a variety of shapes (some months it's one shape + others it's multiple shapes) that can be cut into elements that can be added to pockets or cards.

So $1 shipping increase last year and a $2 increase this year, but with less actual usable product. Then, to get any inspiration it will be another $5. Yikes. Thats a hard pill to swallow for those of us who use these kits for pocket scrapping. Definitely will have to think about this and decide where my money is best spent.
Hi! It isn't another $5 for the inspiration. That's included. The physical SBTM includes the classroom. The digital SBTM is now called Inspiration By The Month (so you get the digital kit + the classroom).

I’m really excited for this change. I stopped subscribing because I stopped doing project life and didn’t have as much use for cards. Love the larger papers, more embellishments and class content. Also loving the color updates!

Looks great! I wish there were a price for someone who wanted it all and got a discount because they got the bundle. Just a thought, not a complaint. 😃 As long as I get my monthly Ali fix in the Story Kit classroom and that’s not changing, I’m happy! That’s not changing, right?

Looks great! Thank you for being so thoughtful and intentional with your product offerings. Just to make sure I understand. I'm a physical SBTM subscriber and each month I pay $5 to get it digitally. Starting 2023 my physical SBTM kit will include inspiration, and I can still pay $5 to get the digital version of the kit? Thank you!

I absolutely love this. I took a break from memory keeping this year and missed it so much. I recently resubscribed and I am so happy to see the vellum and the outside of the page protector papers. Cannot wait to get started in the new year.
