One Little Word® 2016 | The Reading Of The Words

As has become tradition, I've once again invited Liz Lamoreux to read the words for us.

Click here to listen to Liz read the words for 2016.

I love hearing them all out loud.

The large word in the main photo at the top of this post was created for me by my lovely friend Colleen Attara (my "Be Amazing" sweater is from Old Navy a couple of years ago). If you are looking for something smaller check out the custom acrylic words I'm offering (hand-drawn by me) this year in the shop - choose between white or black. People have been ordering family names, places, and other special words as well as their word for 2016.

Also, there is absolutely still time to join the One Little Word® workshop if you are interested in making your word visible this year and sharing the journey with others.

Here is the collected list as of the morning of 1/4/15:

Mine is Action. So far, it's a good word, since we decided to move out of state at the end of January.

Hi Beth, my word is "Action" too! I just need to throw off the shackles of my own laziness and get shit done. I have so many plans and ambitions, but I just let them be, without doing anything about them. This year, little by little, I am getting into "action" mode, and making things happen. Good luck to you with your word!

    Ali
I liked to read this list.
This year I didn't sign up for the workshop One Little Word. I did it last year and thought , as I hadn't done anything , it was a complete failure for me. My 2015 word was BE. When I thought about this word, I was going to forget me , forbade me to do things or thought not to be able to do those things. Too many fears (new places, new people, what if I fail, what do people think about me..). I needed to BE brave, feminine, aware of who I am...
After 3 months and nothing jotted down, I said to myself "ok this is not for me, I can't write anything" But was still looking at the lessons. Later, I thought "perhaps I haven't CHOOSE the right word. Perhaps CHOOSE should be my word (another fear: what if I'm making the wrong choice)." Then (a couple months later), you write posts for the 2016 OLW. I bought the gold and creme album with the idea of not using it for OLW because I would not do OLW. The word CHOOSE reappeared, trotting in my head. But I chose not to do OLW.
By reading these words , I thought about this choice and the past year. Last year, I met new people, went to new places, was more feminine (as I used to be in the past), I allowed myself to do more, thinking "I can do this". I even drove alone for 7 hours to go to a place I did not know, full of unknown people (crop EA in Montpellier). And I'm really glad I did. I will never thank you enough for that because if you hadn't been there, I wouldn't probably have done it.
Finally this is not a complete failure.
This is not a failure and now it's time to be a CHOOSER.
    Thank you
    Virginie

ps: sorry if I'm not clear

Ali, can I ask where the list of words above were collected? I wasn't sure where to mention my word to be in the list. Thanks!

Hi Ali, I love seeing and hearing many different One Little Words. A few days ago and just in time for the new year, I first learned about your OLW project through Elise's podcast (it's my favorite :) ). I was stuck briefly until OLW hit me: Leap. I don't see it on your list, and that excites me AND freaks me out - ha! On my blog, I wrote about why I chose it and the excitement it's generated so far. I'm attempting to transition into a creative career as a solo-preneur, and I think "leap" will be the kick on the booty that I'll need - often - in 2016. I think I'll order an acrylic mini of it and maybe sign up for the class too so that I can give and receive support and share in the OLW journey with the community. Thanks for this. :) ~Jules

It's like meditation to listen to Liz reading the words, - meditate - probably my word for next year. This year I registered the first time for OLW - my word is kindness. It makes already a difference to follow and work through the lessons. It's my first online-class, too and the content/videos/explanations are greatly prepared. I am really excited to be on this journey and hope to stay on track.

    Hi Ali,

What a wonderful idea! I want to order 2 different words, but I seem to be able to only order them individually, thereby getting a double shipping charge. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help.
