Here we go : www.SixDegrees.org
Tags:Many of you have sent me emails and left comments wondering how you can help in getting the word out about autism and fundraising. This morning I received an email from Stephaine (thank you) who let me know about a new social network set up by Kevin Bacon (yep, the Kevin Bacon) called www.SixDegrees.org in partnership with Network for Good.
Here's the basics:
Over on the right side of my blog you will see my badge to raise money for Autism Speaks. I really think that we could get enough donations to receive a matching grant. Here is your chance to make a difference.
And, thank you.

I am so glad someone brought this to your attention. I am a longtime lurker and when I heard Kevin speak of this on the view I immediately thought, "if Ali Edwards did this, Kevin would be matching the grant". My family will be donating. Bless you Ali Edwards, you are a fabulous mom and a brilliant human being.

This is GREAT Ali! My scrapbooking friend Elisabet showed my your site. My little brother is 11 and was diagnosed with the Autism Spectrum Disorder called Asperger's Syndrome when he was 5. I am adding your badge to my website as we also donate to Autism Speaks!!

This is awesome! My 7-year-old son was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS), which is in the Austism Spectrum, when he was 4. I know how important awareness and education is. Keep up the good work!

I think what you are doing is awesome and I also think you and your husband are doing a fabulous job with your son, Simon. I will be donating to the cause and trying to spread the word as well. Just one thing, on your "badge" it says that "1 in 4 are boys"--is this what you meant to say? not to be critical, but my understanding is that boys are more likely to be affected than girls.
keep up the great work--april

Thanks Ali, I just sent this along to my girlfriend Becky. She has the most wonderful little boy Nicholas who has autism. I think this is wonderful and you are so special to share this with all of us.
I met you at CHA last year. My husband and I so enjoyed chatting with you. Keep up your great work and don't stop creating...you are inspiration.
