December Daily™ 2011 | Day Nine

Welcome to December Daily™ 2011 | Day Nine.

JUST A NOTE | I’ve got a second post going here on my Projects Blog today – December’s Technique Tuesday/Studio AE Blog Hop. Check it out here.

Have you guys heard of Portable North Pole? My friend Stacey introduced it to me last year – it’s a way for your kids, grandkids, neighbor kids, etc to receive an email and a video message Santa. The best part is that it’s personalized.

It was pretty much magic watching Simon and then Anna view their videos.

The best part was Simon saying to Anna, “Anna, I’m so glad you’re on the nice list.” He was so excited for her. He’s a really good brother.

Here’s a look at my pages and my process:

For the first page I used one of my December Daily™ Layered Templates (includes the favorite tradition overlay).

I printed that on 8.5 x 11 and cut.

On top of the photo I added a “he” and “she” buttons from Ormolu. The “&” was cut with the Silhouette.

For the second page I printed out the email and did some cutting and pasting. I printed it directly from my email program.

I printed and cut up both emails so I could include their names together on this one page.

It’s hard to do justice and capture just how excited they both were.

HO HO HO – I LOVE this entry in your DD!! WOW!!! I have a 14 year old and this is her 1st year to say she’s too old for alot of the Santa stuff – but guess what – I am going to do this anyway!!!

One of our traditions is also to use the NORAD Santa tracker – it has a kids countdown village with some games and is especially cool on Christmas Eve – your kids can see what country Santa is in. I believe NASA started this site for kids…here is the link…enjoy!

I did the Santa Videos with my kids and my 9 year old boy said “Is this a VIDEO CHAT?!? Can HE SEE ME?” He was very relieved that Santa couldn’t actually see him through the computer. My 8 year old daughter is feeling pretty confident about the new Barbie Dreamhouse with the knowledge that she is on the nice list – I told her better keep up the good behavior because I’m pretty sure Santa checks his lists one more time Christmas Eve.

Thanks for letting us know about the Santa video thing. So Awesome.

I understand that you print your photos at home. In the spring we’re hoping to get a new computer and printer. I would LOVE to be able to print photos at home. What printer do you recommend? Do you think we should have a separate one for regular printing, and one for photo printing?

    Hi Ali,
Love this page!!!!! This was the year that my ASD 11 year old found out about good old Saint Nick. I had already ordered the video and wanted to do a page in my Dec. Daily and tell the story of how he handled it . Anyway he loved the video. Thanks to your post I now have an inspiration for the page “YES, Nick there is a Santa.” Thanks for the GREAT inspiration and although I am behind a few days I will keep plugging along…

No more thumb-sucking!!! We still can’t believe it ! It’s been 6 days since he got his Santa video and not one time have we seen him do it! Love me some Christmas miracles ;)

I think I am going to cry a river, mind you I cry every time I hear people singing the national anthem, or kids singing anything, I am a big softie. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing site.

OMG this is priceless! When our son was about 8 years old, we had a family friend call pretending to be Santa – watching his face on the phone had us laughing and crying at the same time. Such a great moment and thank you so much for sharing!

Those that cannot apply for this kind of card or that would prefer a different solution could consider a prepaid card that
comes with a credit building element as an alternative.
It’s a good idea to have separate email promotions for prospects and customers, too, because you typically need to send different information to the different groups. You wont get a true imitation of your signature with this Android app, unless you can cleverly manipulate the mechanics behind its operation, but that is highly unlikely.
