Welcome to Katie’s Project Life® 2013 | Weeks 25 through 29 .
In an attempt to get caught up with sharing my weeks, I am going to be posting only the full page spread. I recently just photographed about 3 months worth of my weekly layouts, so this is part 1 of sharing them here. You can click on the photo to see more detail.
Week 25 | Peter graduated this week. It’s always a treat to visit the University of Oregon campus. It’s filled with amazing old buildings and the best landscaping. We had a small get together with friends and family at my parents house and celebrated him. This week I included some cards from the Sunshine Core Kit that were included in the Studio Calico “Double Scoop” Project Life® Kit. The “Sweet Snuggles” stamp is from Kelly Purkey’s set called Newman. Still keeping the embellishments simple as I play catch up.
Week 26 | This week was full of highs and lows. I chose my dress for my sister’s wedding, and we celebrated her at her Bachelorette party. We also said goodbye to sweet Lily girl. She was such a great friend, and I will always treasure the time I was able to spend with her. Most of the journal cards are from various Studio Calico Project Life® kits. The sticker on the date card is from Carta Bella’s Hello Again 12×12 Sticker Sheet.
Week 27 | Highlights from this week include celebrating my cousin at her baby shower and watching Ali design our wedding invitations. I’m so thankful for her and her abilities to make our invitations so beautiful. The little gold labels are from Studio Calico’s Double Scoop Project Life® Kit (which is still available!). I want an endless supply of those gold labels. I love them! The gold letterpress card designed by Kal Barteski and is from the Studio Calico “Cuppa” Project Life® Kit. That card is worth buying the kit alone. I thought about framing it, because it is so beautiful!
Week 28 | We finished printing our invitations using a Gocco Printer. It was so much fun to print them and put them together. The results were amazing and exactly what I wanted. White ink on kraft paper. Love. This week we were super busy working on the content for Hello Story, so I included some journaling on that. I also included a little story on how Ali shut her finger in the car door and had to go to urgent care. Her going to the doctor = me getting some awesome pictures of the kids outside in the summer evening light. I included a few transparent embellishments from Chic Tags, that were included in Studio Calico’s “Blue Note” Project Life® Kit.
Somehow I missed week 29… and that’s okay.
Week 29 | My sweet sister got married this week! She had a lovely outdoor ceremony at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in Portland. It was beautiful and such a special day. This week was all about preparing for the wedding and celebrating her and her husband. I chose not to embellish the pictures because I wanted to keep the focus on the people in the photos. I am going to make a photo book to document the entire wedding itself, so I chose just a few special photos from the day of to include here.
When I look back at all these spreads it makes my heart happy. I love that I can see that they really reflect me and my personal style– light and bright with pops of color. This project is such a great reminder of how full my life really is, even when it doesn’t seem like it sometimes. Life is good, and I am so thankful.
As you can tell, I really am enjoying the Studio Calico Project Life® kits. I have yet to start on my 2014 album yet, but I am seriously considering only working from these kits this year. I love the quality and designs of their journal cards, and the embellishments they choose are awesome.
Right now Studio Calico is offering Ali readers a special offer of an exclusive stamp set designed by Marcy Penner (Hello Forever) when you sign up for a new subscription to the Scrapbook, Card, or Project Life monthly kits.
