They are the most awesome, wonderful Grandparents. And they take photos.

Love you guys. Thank you for always being so supportive of all of us. And thank you especially for the amazing gifts you have given Simon of time and love and adventure. You have made a difference in his life.

My 87-yr-old MIL lives with us. And Grandma plays marching band with my four- and one-year-old girls, keeps a close watch on them so they are always safe, and helps out around the house as much as she can. Unfortunately, my mom still lives in Singapore, but when she visits, the girls warm back up to her from the minute she steps in the door. I wish I had more Grandpa influences in their lives (my FIL passed away before I met my husband and my dad has not yet had a chance to meet them) but I am thankful for the love the two wonderful Grandmas give to my girls. Your parents do seem to spend so much one-on-one time with Simon – it’s very touching.

First, look at your mom’s great legs!! :)
Second, I too am so thankful for the blessing that both my parents and my in-law’s are to not just me and my husband but to my son. We live close to both, but I try to never take that for granted and love to see their relationship grow as my son does.
I am jealous of your parents location … what great memories to make in such a beautiful setting.

I have lost both parents in the last 18 months. One of the things about it that is so extremely sad to me is that my 6 and 10 year old will never get this awesome Grandma and Grandpa time, and come to know the wonderful people they were. At the same time I am so sad my parents will not get to see my girls grow, as they were both teachers and LOVED children so much. At each “special event” in their lives I have that little sore spot in my heart wishing my parents could be there to enjoy and participate.
I can tell you already do…but TREASURE TREASURE TREASURE this special time with your parents. Once it is gone it can never be replaced!

What a blessing to have such awesome grandparents.
My in laws like to take all the grandkids to the beach and feed the birds or watch the boats, the only thing that’s missing are pictures but at least they will always have those memories, maybe one day I will sneak over and take pictures from far : )
    Have a wonderful weekend.

Ali, you are so very blessed. I love my parents, too, but they’re extremely passive, distant, almost disinterested grandparents, and my husband’s folks are both gone. How I wish my children had grandparents like Simon’s and Anna’s!!

Grandparents play such an important role, so nice that they are there for it. I know how much it’s treasured with my family. We have the only grandkids, and they are loved so much by their five grandparents and four great grandparents! All a part of their lives.

My children have incredible granparents as well, and I often find myself marveling at this blessing in the children’s lives.
Committed, beautiful, nurturing, fun-loving relationships with those who love them = so important for our little ones!
btw, I *love* the photo of grandmother and grandson playing tag in the surf.

I am so blessed to have such amazing parents too (and they take photos as well! lol!) Having grown up with one set of grandparents choosing not to know us (being children of a bi-racial marriage) and the other set whom i adored living 4000km away across the Pacific ocean, I know I REALLY cherish our kids’ relationships with their grandparents. Loved those photos too.
    Bless you Ali,
