One Little Word® 2016

Welcome to the One Little Word® Kick Off post for 2016.

Registration for the 12-month workshop has begun. Register before December 31, 2015 to receive the early-bird price of $26 (after December 31st the price is $31).

The workshop will operate much like it has for the past five years - monthly creative prompts to encourage you to connect with your word via writing, photography, and collage. This year I'll be working in the 6x8 format but will continue to provide printables in the 8.5x11 size for those of you who wish to continue in your current albums.

Past students have reported learning about celebrating progress rather than perfection, about the power of focusing on a single word and the impact that can have in your life, about how many little moments make up the patterns of our lives, about thinking of your future self as you make decisions today, about how your own journey is important, about how to step back into the story of your own life as an active participant, about learning what you most need from yourself, and about the power of coming back again and again to your original intentions as a means of reflection and forward movement.

Is this your first time hearing about One Little Word®? The premise is simple - choose a word to invite into your life for the coming year. You live with it. You let it speak to you. You might even follow where it leads. There are so many possibilities and no right or wrong way to approach the adventure. Sometimes words have come to me out of the blue and other years I've gone looking for what it was I most wanted to bring into my life.

I'll be sharing my 2016 word after Christmas

In addition to the workshop this year I'm offering a small collection of products to aid you in your journey with your word - including 6x8 albums (your choice of gray or gold-lined), a OLW journal that includes 20 additional prompts/creative ideas + blank pages for personal writing, a monthly chipboard divider/stamp kit, and small custom acrylic words (written by me in either black or white - the size is between 4 and 6 inches). We've also partnered with MantraBand® to offer a selection of their word bracelets

During the One Little Word® Kick-Off period shipping is free domestically and just $5 international when purchasing products included on the  One Little Word® shop page (please note that If you add any other items from other areas in the shop to your cart, normal shipping rates will apply to those additional items.. This will be available through January 31, 2016. After that date regular shipping rates will apply.

Here's a short video introducing you to the new products:

Wishing you all the best this holiday season and I hope to see you in the 2016 One Little Word® workshop.

Looking forward to this journey as well. I'm having a hard time thinking on a word for next year. I mentioned it on the message board so I won't go into detail. It's funny I knew this year's word months before I needed it. Anyway, I love this workshop. Thanks for offering it. Michelle t

I love the idea of one little word. I've had one for three years and 2016 makes year four! I am going to ask father christmas for your class.

Can you tell us when these will ship? Just want to know if we are gone over the holidays if any packages would be needing to be watched for or stopped until we return. Thanks Ali.

I am so excited! I have been trying to find my word for a few weeks now, and reading your post kind of gave me permission to take the time to actually do some thinking and searching and I found it! Yippee! Also ordered the journal to once again try to be more purposeful all year and not just at the beginning. Good intentions! Thanks!

Just double checking but when you purchase the class you receive the stamps and page dividers as well?

    Ali,
The album doesn't appear to include the 2x2-12 pocket page protectors. Do you think you will be using any of these in your class next year? In the past, you have had prompts for something like this, so I just want to be ready!
So looking forward to a new year with my One Little Word! Thank you for your dedication and creative sparks that keep this project fresh and fun every year. (I hope you are feeling better today!)

Just got my package today! I LOVE the monthly dividers, but was slightly disappointed to see that when I put in the dividers and 17 page protectors, the album is pretty full already. I can't imagine that I can put a full year of photos/cards in my 6x8 gold album. I don't want to split my album in two, and tried to put the pages into the December Daily 2013 album that you had on clearance earlier (that was misprinted), but the 4 holes don't align with the 6-hole page protectors. I'll make do with what I have, but please consider using the manufacture that made those 2013 D-ring albums in the future, because it can fit a lot of pages. Thanks!

So excited to be joining in again, and I love the smaller size album and accessories. Can't wait to dive in. My word for 2016 is RESILIENT. I can't wait to hear what yours is too. Thanks for keeping this project going. It means a lot to me. <3

Question! Does it say "One little word" on the gold-lined album? I think it's really gorgeous but I don't need an album for OLW this year. I was thinking of using it for Week in the life later this spring (right?) and just buying more page protectors to fit WITL.

It's February 19 - not too late to join without needing to rush through things? If so, I think my word might be more.

The gray binder seems to have disappeared - I wonder if it will be back in stock.

And are people adding paper to the 6x8 albums to write on or solely using page protectors to slip photos and cards into? (You can tell I"m new to this, right?!) If adding paper, how are you punching holes, since the binders don't have the standard three rings. With a single hole hole-punch? Thank you.

Express thanks you so much for this enormous post! I extremely adore admin because he wrote outstanding editorial about one little word. Assignment Corner has dangerously made a wonderful contact on my social giving out, particularly on facebook. I actually love it because of the exceptional outline.
