PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

This sounds like the perfect stamp club! Ali's style captures so much of what we do in scrapbooks (as opposed to card-making type stamp sets). I would love to see more stamps designed around the theme of celebrating who our loved ones are (eg. "I just love you!") This is where your previous sets are so unique. Just keep going!

I'd love to see a mix and match set of concentric circles and numbers. Just last night I was hunting for the right style and size of circle stamp to highlight an embellishment on my page (everything I had was too small).

I'd love to see a stamp set with a month/date/time theme. Little places to leave the date on a layout. Stamps with the months of the year. Oh, and of course a set of little numbers.

I'd like to see a set more geared toward use on pages for teenagers. There isn't a lot on the scrapbooking market in that area.

I love your stamps and signed myself up for the monthly club a few days ago...cannot wait for the stamps to start arriving.

I would love so see some "sentiment stacks" similar to the ditigal ones you have for Designer Digitals...they are among my most favourite supplies right now.

    Love this layout...thanks Ali!!!

I have 2 young adult children. My son is in the Army and only see him once a year. So I would like something like I miss you themed. My daughter lives 5 hours away from me so that would be perfect for her too!
