December Daily® 2016 | Day 19

Welcome to December Daily® 2016 | Day 19.

My journaling for today tells the whole story:

Lots of lounging & screen time today for our cast of characters on the last day everybody was all here before Christmas Day. There was very little arguing and lots of playing and even some time spent organizing the toys in the girls room (sorting “like” things is what I like to call it). There was hot cocoa & pork nachos & chicken chili & cookies made in the Easy Bake Oven. There was Minecraft & Mission Impossible & the wearing of bathrobes and PJ’s & Shopkins & work time for me & some time spent cleaning up the downed tree branches outside (mostly Aaron & Audrey). In the evening Tiffany picked up Simon & Anna and we dropped Isaac & Elliott off for a sleepover with the Darden’s & sat at their kitchen counter for conversation before heading home in a direction where we could see lots of Christmas lights. Tomorrow it will be quiet here and Aaron & I will work and go to the grocery story and do some shopping and make our own bit of merry as we prepare for them to all converge back here in a tornado of joy on Christmas Day. Hey kids - love the moment you are in and embrace it for what it is and remember how much you are loved. Hug all your parents tightly and say thank you and I love you and I’ll see you soon. Have the most awesome time until we see you again.

Here's a look at what Day 19 turned out looking like:

I love this photo. This is one of those photos that I know I will love looking at in the years to come. It's casual. It's real. I had asked them to all come together in the living room so I could take a photo of them all together - my goal was to capture them before we sent them off to be with the extended families. They came from their separate spots in the house to gather on the couch by the tree in the middle of all the "stuff." I took about 10 shots - a couple where I asked them to look at the camera and a couple where I told them to just hang out. I personally love that some of them are looking and some of them aren't. They aren't posed - they are just being them and that's how I love them.

I knew I wanted to enlarge this photo and pair it with words. I considered adding text directly onto the photo but decided to create tags to hold my journaling instead.

The "this" title uses the thin puffy letter stickers from the Main Kit.

The journaling was printed on Neenah Bright White paper which is one of my favorites for printing digital products for hybrid projects (I had measured one of the other tags and used that are the jumping off point).

The other tags were handcut using the rose gold "let your heart be light" card from the Decor8 Mini Kit and the "awesome spirit of the season" was a card from the Main Kit. I'm using the Power Punch now for the larger holes in the tags and in the transparency.

The tags are adhered to a thick star transparency that was from Bella Blvd called Color Chaos Invisibles (currently on clearance at Scrapbook.com). It's a large die cut shape that I cut down to size to fit into my album.

Here you can see the second page of my journaling.

I adhered the other tags first and then used foam dots to adhere this journaling tag on top - I like having it lifted up a bit. I also liked having the #19 just peeking out from the side.

You can see this better in the image below:

You can also see in this photo that the star piece from Bella Blvd isn't totally transparent - it's even sturdier than others.

Here's a look at the spread outside of the album:
