December Daily™ 2013 | Day Seventeen

Welcome to December Daily™ 2013 | Day Seventeen.

Most years I include a little bit of the work I've got going on around here. This time I decided to take a photo of my table with all my December Daily™ stuff on top. This project is a big part of my December each year - makes sense to include something about it in my album.

Here's a look at Day 17:

For the bottom pocket I created a journal card using one of the 4x6 cards that came with the Studio Calico kit.

I used Gold Zing embossing glitter and  a "dec" circle stamp from my Joy Flair set from Technique Tuesday and then punched it with this great little 1-inch circle punch (which is a perfect fit for these flair stamps: Look Here, Travel With Flair, Baby, Fun).

Did you guys know that Versamark has a double-ended embossing pen? They do and it's pretty great. I used it to color-in the star and to write "make stuff" for this journal card.

I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the embossed words and on top of the "17" chipboard.

Love the "Make Stuff" card and such a great idea to include your December Daily as an actual part of your December Daily. :)

Ali, I'm really liking your DD this year; it seems much simpler than in years past. Maybe that's my imagination, but it seems simpler, calmer, easier, less hectic, and that is appealing to me this year. Again that may be my imagination and more a reflection of where I am than where you are, but I'm loving your pages. I'm trying Shimelle's journaling this year, I'm a story telling by nature and I'm enjoying the emphasis on the story -- especially since my kids are grown I think. :)

I totally need to ask for some Zing embossing glitter for Christmas! And thanks for sharing about the pen. I have an old embossing marker, but it is chisel-ended for calligraphy. Would be awesome to get a "regular" one, didn't know about that one!
