Terry and Yvonne - email me and I will get you in touch with Shimelle for the class. After reading through all the comments yesterday I totally want to do it again - thinking that maybe I will just do it when I can as the month goes by. It is such a great way just to celebrate the season (and does not have to take much time at all).

And next up, I wanted to share a Thanksgiving album I made from a new kit club created by my friend Tricia: COCOA DAISY. Tricia lives just up the road from me. We met a year or so ago when we drove together (with our other friend Emily) down to some classes I taught at No Bare Pages. Since that day we have had lots of great lunches and chats - most recently she and I and Emily have been going to Dream Dinners once a month (I need to do a whole post about that place - I LOVE it) and then out to dinner afterwards. Awesome girl time.

I was so excited for Tricia when she told me she wanted to start a monthly kit club. She has great taste and a fantastic work ethic. When I got this first kit I totally knew I wanted to create a Thanksgiving album - the idea was to get it done before Thanksgiving so all I will need to do is add in my photos and journaling. And you guys know how much I love miniBOOKS.

So here's my creation from the November kit:

Cd_thanksgiving1

A close-up on the cover: chipboard circle pieces + rub ons + stamps (from my own collection) + glossy accents on top for the coating + clock

Cd_thanksgiving2

And the inside. Once I have some journaling I plan to print it onto cardstock and add it to the left side (mixed in with the other elements). Photos with a white border will go on the right side of the album.

Cd_thanksgiving3

The chipboard swirl accents were painted with Delta Trail Tan acrylic paint and stamped with the Remember stamp (product 294E) from Catslife Press.

Cd_thanksgiving4

The "give thanks" accents were created using my Wacom tablet + printed onto cardstock + and the edges inked. I also used the Delta paint around the edge of each of the interior pages - felt more finished that way.

And the ribbon is super yummy.

Here's an in-process image and the inks I used:

Excited about filling this up over the next week.

Simon looks like he grew up a little since the last picture posts... unreal how fast our sweet babies can grow up. There have been a few times I really felt like our girls grew overnight. :)

Love Simon's jarmies! He makes an excellent lotto draw dude. I wish we had a Dream Dinners here! That looks like such cool fun and a terrific idea for us working mum's. If I had the money I would love to set that up here.

I had the same question as some others...
How do you get the holes and the pages to line up? Do you take the whole book apart first? Is it a sketch book you're using? If so, they come with a lot of pages. Do you save the excess and use it somewhere else later?

Alright, the Thanksgiving Album looks inredible, and it just highlights something I learned after your newsletter on stamping: that I have a lot to learn about the versatility of stamps.
You opened my eyes to the possibilities, but I still feel I am grasping at straws. I have tons of stamps! And maybe my problem is that most of them are a style I no longer care for. Part of it is also that I have never seen them used in the way that you use them. And I realize now that I must not be identifying what I am seeing on yours and (and probably others') pages.
You may not want to return to the subjects of stamps for a while, Ali, but if you ever feel like doing something where you show a bunch more examples (an online class, a CK article, a blog entry, or newsletter?) I would be so happy!

thought i would let you know (if you didn't already) - creative memories has the cutest 7X7 cranberry colored album with mickey on the right corner on cover. i bought extra natural pages, left the protectors off, threaded a pen with a piece of elastic through the spine and got signatures on one side and photos w/embellishments on the other side that corresponded to each signature. it was very easy to use for both the character and my 3 year old (now 5). my only other advise is take baby/anti-bactrial wipes with you everyday to the park. i think i will be using wipes the rest of my life - so many great uses for all

This little book is just perfect. So beautiful. I really enjoy your blog, and have even ordered from Catpress stamps after reading about them in your stamp layout. Since I'm new to all this, one thing I can never understand is the ribbon on those spiral - do you just tie several ribbons on the spirals? or do you do it in a different way? How did you tie on that beautiful metal flower? And thanks for sharing pieces of your life and your beautiful artwork!
