Finding our rhythm.

As Simon has been saying over and over, "I am so glad she's here."

We made the transition from hospital to home on Friday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend just hanging out. Thank you so much for all the well-wishes and kind words. We are all really just so excited.

Anna2

Lots of getting to know you moments. So far she is quite the little sleeper and quite the nurser - her two favorite activities. She is also really good at snuggling.

Simon is super protective of her. He makes sure to let me know that she needs help and gets very concerned when she appears to be in distress. Chris and I have had lots of "shared-look" moments as we watch Simon talk to her, tell her about whatever is on his mind at the moment, and show her his toys.

Keeping it very low key this week. Working on healing myself as I learn all about this sweet girl. Feeling really good overall (the meds definitely help this along) and taking things as easy as I can.

    She's wonderful Ali -so beautiful!
I love the photo of Simon holding her :)
We know the 'shared-looks' that you speak of between you and Chris as you watch Simon with her. We have *those* here too :) Our three kids (one with Autism) greet our baby girl (still in my tummy) with cuddles, high fives and kisses every morning, every night and a million random times throughout the day! I love it when they *bring* her things to *show* her and when I explain that she can't see them just yet since she's still in my tummy, they say 'it doesn't matter, we just want to show her anyway!' So precious :)
Love to you as you mend and get to know your precious princess with every passing day, every hour, every moment..

I´m glad you´re all doing fine, take care of yourself! And thank you so much for sharing these wonderful fotos and moments! Hubby and I are thinking about a (first) child these days... lots of thoughts and fears of doing something for the first time. But seeing these fotos makes me just feel it is so natural and just the right thing.
All the best for you and your precious family of 4! :-)
    Love, Anne

Oh Ali, she's beautiful. The photo of Simon holding her is so priceless. My nephew is autistic and he paid absolutely no attention to his sister other than annoyance. My sons are now grown, but the greatest gift I ever gave them was each other. We were terrified of jealous sibling rivalry and resentment so we kind of encouraged them as a team and if there were issues it would be them against us. Now they are adults and still best friends and talk on the phone almost every day. The photo I captured as my youngest son left home to join his wife who is in the Army stationed at Ft. Hood in Texas was a grown up version of Simon and Anna. She has brought blessings and more joy into your beautiful family. I love that you are so sweet to be sharing little posts with us because it reminds me of the best days of my life. Enjoy and glad your taking care of yourself too.
