A late-night hello from Detroit.
Just wanted to say a late-night hello from Detriot, Michigan - home of The Scrapbook Zone. Had the best day today cruising the Henry Ford museum with Kelley, Stacy and Sue, eating burgers for lunch at a place called Miller's (one of those totally awesome bar's with no menu - it is either cheese or no-cheese, medium or well, fries or onion rings), and cropping (YES, I CROPPED - working on my class project for CKU-Japan) with an amazingly great group of women tonight at The Zone.
Totally looking forward to a day full of classes tomorrow. It was so cool to see faces I recognized tonight - and meet lots of new people - before classes in the morning. It makes for such a great dynamic when some of that newness is taken away the night before.
And this store, man, I could go on and on. It is by far the largest store I have been too. Amazing selection. And a crop room that fits 64 people (with a pop machine and a popcorn maker). Seriously.
Ok, gotta get some sleep.
Ali~it was so great having you at our store! You are such a great person, I never imagined you could be so sweet. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on just about everything with us. You answered all of our questions without hesitation; you are so open and we love that about you!:)Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see you again at CHA this summer! -Stacey

Ali you are one cool chica. I had a blast sitting next to you at the crop and your class rocked. Thanks for coming to Michigan... The Zone kicks some serious scrapbook butt, doesn't it? We are a lucky bunch of ladies here for sure. Hope you had a safe trip home.

Thanks Ali for a great class and for signing my book!! My birthday was a wonderful day with a great kickstart due to you. Hubby was laughing with my excitement over meeting you, having my picture taken with you and getting to chat with you. Hope you had a safe trip home and enjoyed the rest of Sunday with Chris and Simon. Good to be home....

Ali, I love your work - you are so talented. I think it is so amazing that NO ONE on earth would have a clue that Simon is autistic from your layouts. In fact I have just started reading your blog and based on the things I have read here - I have assumed he is autistic - but I do not know that for sure. You must be such an incredible mom - keep up the good work...

My son too was diagnosed at 4 and the past 5 years (is it only 5?) has been such an incredible ride. I just want to say you are truly amazing and what awareness you're created for autism! Also want to share my firm belief that the best thing that can happen to a child on the spectrum are parents (and especially a mom) who take on every therapy, method, theory, therapist, doctor, and then do for our child that which only we can know is right for him. It will take a lot of trial & error, tweaking and adapting, but only we know our children and that makes all the difference. And with you, Simon is most blessed.
