Can I tell you something?

I love scrapbooking.

Just having one of those days when I am REALLY loving the opportunity to create and make stuff and tell stories. I have been waiting to have a day like this for awhile.

Sometimes people ask me if I call everything "life art" now. I still use the term "scrapbooking" because it is still the best way to describe to most people what it is that I do. But I love that everything I do is about our lives...and that it is art. Everyday art, I love that.

And I totally love all the miniBOOKS you guys have been sharing. Thanks for playing along.

Peace & tons of creative vibes heading your way.

Scrapbooking rocks! I love having the perfect way to combine the photos I love to take, the stories I want to share, and a way to let my inner artist out.

    Hey Ali!
LOVED your minibook challenge. Not only did I create a cool album very quickly, I also learned a huge lesson. I decided to do one of my 6 year old son Vince. I got the minibook together and wanted Vince to write in it so I could get his handwriting. Vince doesn't always talk in complete sentences (he is on the autism spectrum). I was literally telling him what to write because I wanted the album to be "pretty". I wanted him to write in more details. He was resisting me and wanted to write what he wanted. All of a sudden I realized what I was doing to him. I could picture you telling me "It is ok..." And I listened. This was Vince's album and he was going to write what he wanted to write. I had to help him with spelling. He wrote everything with just very little prompting from me. And I LOVE it. It's a true picture of how he thinks out loud.
Love this idea so much that everyone in the family is getting one done. I'm working on mine and my 3 y/o daughter. Even my husband is working on his own! Of course I put his album together but he choose what pictures he wanted in it and I'm making him write his own thoughts down in his book.
Thank you Ali for the inspiration and yet another life lessoned learned from you!!!
    xoxo

"Life Art" is so true. I always think of this as mixed media art. I so want a day to have the opportunity to spend the day creating. And since I haven't had one since last weekend, the mini book challenge is still waiting for me. Sometimes, life interrupts art.

Can I tell you that I love scrapbooking too and one of the reasons I love it is because of you. I think it is wonderful to have someone like you give us the inspiration and direction that I so much need. My favorite moments are when I discover something new, whether it's a technique, product, journaling...whatever it is, it keeps me going.
Creating makes me happy. And I have evidence of that sitting on my coffee table (the album we made in class at Get Croppin in February).
    :)
