AEzine Challenge : Follow-Up to Photos
From the newsletter this week:
This week your challenge is to try the photo gathering technique listed above. This is one of my most favorite ways to get multiple photos on a layout.
I am sitting here at the Northwest Women's Show in Portland, getting ready for my talk this afternoon about scrapbooking you (also known as: telling your story). Since I am not at home with my supplies I figured I would put together a completely digital layout instead. I have been collecting lots of cool digital supplies (of course those are all on my home computer) and am having fun implementing them into my paper projects.
So here is my post for the challenge this week - basic and wonderful. Focused on the photos and the words. Just like I like it (except on those days when I want more...gotta love variety).
Brushes on this layout are from Rhonna's Old Stamps Brush set from Two Peas.
Looking forward to see how you did with the challenge.
And a special note to all of you that donated to the 14 for 14 campaign. Thank you.
Loved doing this challenge - it was a great way to incorporate lots of my many zoo photos onto one layout!

I just got back from vacation and haven't had a chance to scrap a new page for this week. But, because I want to join in the fun, I'm going to "cheat" and use an old page I scrapped of my son on his 2nd birthday:

I used Photoshop for this one. However, lately I've been using GIMP--a free alternative to Photoshop (pretty cool tool that you can get here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ ). Thanks for the challenge Ali!

Just loved all of these pics of our youngest daughter and so they seemed to fit a photo gathering challenge... I was trying to decide how 11 4x5s were going to get on the paper layout. The digital challenge solved that. :) Your work is incredible though! I have those same stamps from RF and have never made them look that GREAT! ... the 14 for 14 too. Love your style! :)

This goes along the same lines too... just fewer photos to gather on each page and then they are all going to be gathered in her K4 ABC book at the end of the year.

I had fun putting this together with some Halloween themed photos. I'm still a beginner at the PSE 5.0, hence the simple gathering. I posted on my blog.

I did something a little different for mine. I used a 16-continuous shot photo (from my Nikon) and I used that as my photo collage :)
I also did one in Photoshop, but didn't have time to print this one up at the photo lab. Plus, I still want to play with it a bit hehehe :)

This was a really timely challenge as I was searching through my past issues of CK for just this info on photo gatherings. I put a lot of pictures in this gathering, but it works for me.

Love your LO, Ali. Sydney's a gorgeous city to visit (but, as per the old cliche, I wouldn't want to live there!).
I've finally got my challenge finished and scanned, but Blogger's down right now so I'll have to load it later.

I love your layouts, Ali. Always so clean and sharp. I haven't done this challenge yet, but I did start doing the "This Month" one from week two, only I'm doing it weekly instead. I love the idea of a year's worth of LOs done this way. My first two are here:

Thanks so much for all of the inspiration! Hope you're enjoying Japan.
