Student of life.

When I teach my Week in the Life album workshop at CKU, I tell my students that I consider myself a student of life.

One of my basic human goals is to learn something new and different every day. Sometimes I actively look for a lesson, a word or words, etc, and other days I work on my patience and just let it happen when it is going to happen. Some days it is profound, but most days it is just something simple.

Each time I teach, I learn something from my students. Whether through a one-on-one conversation or from the group as a whole, there tends to be something that stands out.

In Nashville I had a student who was 73 years old. One of my favorite moments from the weekend was looking at the photos she took of herself each day (one of the assignments for the album) in front of her favorite place in her home - her bookshelves. As I stood there looking at her photos I was really touched by her simple presence in the classroom.

I want to be continuing to experience my life and still learning and playing when I am 73. I want to be traveling and playing with my girlfriends and creating and telling my stories. I was inspired by all of the women at that table - laughing, working hard, and enjoying their time together.

I also continue to learn about the amazing generosity of women. Thank you Tanya, Judy, Laura and company for organizing an Autism Speaks auction which raised over $2700. Fantastic.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories and your time with me this weekend. I hope you learned something about scrapbooking and about yourself.

    What a fantastic message Ali.
Today I was so stressed at work and to read this message today. It reminded to leave my stressful job there, and to come home and learn and play with my kids.
And by the way, Student Of Life, I think I may have to steal that for a title on a layout for my BOM.
    Thanks :)

I am currently working on my assignment this week. At first, I didn't think that I would be able to take that many pictures daily. Was I wrong, I didn't realize how much I actually do in one day... Preparing for this class has been a life lesson in itself. I can't wait to document it permanently... Can't wait to meet you in Orlando in October...

Just wanted to say thanks for being you. Loved meeting you in Nashville. Even though I didn't get to take your class you were so sweet and down to earth, a true Southern Lady! I went with a friend who was lucky enough to be in your class and she is still raving about the back rub.

I have learned that it is important to experience all the ups and downs in life. It is important to have a balance of happiness and sadness. It is important to enjoy the simple things. It is important to take risks. I am a student of life and I hope that you are too. Well, I would to suggest https://www.assignmentgeek.com.au/marketing-assignment-help/ website for your marketing assignment help online at low rates.
