Being Autistic, Being Human
A very interesting and thought-provoking podcast from Speaking of Faith about autism is available here. I was especially drawn to the theme of embracing that ran throughout the interview.
Speaking of Faith is a weekly radio program/podcast that offers a wonderful variety of interviews with people from many different faith traditions (emphasizing ideas, meaning, religion, and ethics). Click here for background information on the show. You can subscribe to the podcast here.
I just listen to the first interview...this is so interesting!!! I used to work with autistic kids! It is not easy but it is a blessing to have a child that is so special! And who does not love their child the way it is? Respect to you Ali! I wish I would be so strong and amazing as you are!!!

Another thumbs up for "Speaking of Faith." Krista Tippett, the host, does a great job with a wide range of topics. As a mom of two kids with Asperger's Syndrome, I was delighted to see that she took on this topic.

Heard the show myself this morning and immediately thought of your family. Krista handles topics with such grace and elegance. The program was fascinating and extremely thought-provoking. So glad you caught it.

Thanks for sharing. I have to say, I have been using the links on your site for research. Its been super helpful. I currenly have two autistic children mainstreaming in my kindergarten class. I think they teach me more than I teach them. Bless them!

Hi, Ali. Just caught Jenny and Holly on Larry King this weekend, thought of you all. I don't watch Oprah so... but now I understand your earlier post. All the kids are such troopers and heroes. Wishing Simon continued improvement, Aimeslee
Phoeamnnel breakdown of the topic, you should write for me too!

Ali, I don't know if you remember me, but I volunteered as your assitant a couple of years ago in ATL at the CKU. One of my most memorable experiences - I must say! Anyway, a friend of mine from church just received news that her son is autistic. I have shared your blog and many things I have learned from reading your blog with her. I just want to thank you for sharing your life so that MANY can be blessed and enriched by it. You are truly an inspiration.
With much love and respect,
Sherry A Day
