Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

One thing we've done this week is to plant our garden! My children loved helping dig the dirt, using their own shovels and then helped us plant the vegetables and flowers. This is such a great way to spend time together talking, working, and teaching values. Hurray for spring and summer!

    Hi Ali...
I had to chuckle to myself as I thought about a favorite thing to do with my family and just recently...this past weekend, I had everyone pitch in to clean house. We turned on the Direct TV to the Top 20 playlist and me, my DH and my 4 year old boy/girl twins dusted, vacummed and put away laundry, toys, and anything that was out of place. The fun part was taking breaks and having the twins put on mini concerts and my hubby even joined in with a dance routine. Music is one thing that really ties my family together and when we put it together with housechores, it did not seem like work..it was time well spent
Thank you for letting me share

we just started this last year in my family as "the baby" is now an adult. We took a vacation to the mountains. Sounds so simple but it was awesome! we fished, we played cards, we talked, we hiked. before we even left we were making plans for this year - and in about a month we'll be heading out again!

I love to travel as a family. Right now it is just my husband and I and we are relishing new experiences together. It's a great way to stay connected and build memories.

This sounds like an awesome book. I think that it's never too late to instill a love for being creative and exploring nature. I love good books about getting kids outside (I have two on my nightstand already), and I am a big fan of a monthly magazine that is full of great ideas to do with the kids. :) Now I'm off to visit the site you suggested!

Our favorite things to do as a family are our annual canoe trip down the crow wing river in Minnesota, baseball games in the summer, and Sunday night Family night (pizza, ice cream and a movie)... even now that my kids are almost on their own (today was their last day of their Jr. year... so I now have 2 Seniors in the house)... they still enjoy these activities with their "rents"...lol... Our favorite thing to do as a family is to go camping. And sometimes it is right in the front yard in the camper. Sometimes you have to get creative. We love to sit by the campfire, go fishing and just plain be together. The next favorite thing is movie night in the living room where all the kids grab their favorite blanket along with their pillows, then we all snuggle and enjoy hours of movies with each other.

i am so glad i am not too late to post.
actually, i *love* to scrapbook with my son, who is 6. i let him use whatever supplies and photos he wants. i do help him with the paper cutter! it is so cool to see how his pages turn out, and to see which photos he chooses..often very different from what i would pick which makes it all the better.
