Three Things + 1 : Lots of Love (and giveaways)

Threethingsjan14

This week we are taking a peek at a couple Valentine/Love related products. Look for another round of three next week - there are just too many cool things out there for creating projects that celebrate those you love.

• Thinking a little tiny bit about Valentine projects (must be all the pink). Planning to use my new "Loving Stamps" from Technique Tuesday on something Valentine related. You can also pick up a similar digital version called "Loving Life Word Art." You can download the new Technique Tuesday 2009 Winter Supplement (pdf)
to see the entire line of stamps (or go here).

• Speaking of Valentine's, one of my favorite product lines from CHA last summer
(the big Craft & Hobby show) was from Little Yellow Bicycle called "Love Letters." I love the cardstock stickers (shown above),

• This wonderful print that is going to hang somewhere in my house (maybe in the baby's room or a bathroom) from isophotography (found via poppytalk handmade). It would make a great gift for a loved one.

• And one more lovey thing I couldn't resist this week: little love notes tickets from Making Memories.

    Fantastic giveaways!
I make heart shape sugar cookie pops and decorate them for my boys and their classrooms/teachers.
My boys make handmade valentines. My husband will leave out a box of supplies for them and they make cute little books/cards for me.
We all go out to dinner as a family.

I could really use a pick me up for V-day. My father in law died several years ago on Feb. 14th, so it's sort of a quiet day for my husband and me. I'd love more of a celebration each year on V-day, and this year we are taking our kids to Sesame Street Live on the 14th....yippee!!

The past few years, I've made something special for my husband. Last year I made the album that you had as a download and it was so cute. This year we are parents so Valentine's Day is definitely different. Hopefully we'll still be able to celebrate in some way.

We usually just stay in and I cook a (semi) fancy meal. I usually try to make a special sweet treat for my hubby instead of buying candy. Last year I made homemade peanut butter cups! My hubby isn't a romantic, usually I don't even get a card!

I make a few cards for friends, but we don't really celebrate this holiday in our house. My birthday is on the 12th, so we celebrate that! LOL! We like to give each other small gifts throughout the year to let each other know that we love them. We call them "Tuesday" presents, but there is one rule...you can NEVER give them on a Tuesday! LOL!

Ariana and I usually do a photoshoot and I make some some scrappy valentines. Since we homeschool she gives them to people at church, people at the library and daddy (of course). We have a nice dinner and just be together. It's a quiet kind of day here at my house. I have all I need with just my two people around me :).

My husband & I are a little low key about it, as our anniversary & my birthday are 2 weeks prior. (But I've already picked up his fave Christmas candy & stashed it in the freezer to surprise him with it on that day!)
I like to buy Valentine socks for my girls (the dollar spot at Target has good ones) to wear with their school uniforms, then I try to help out with their class parties.

We don't have a big celebration, I usually get the kids some candy (of course) and then a small gift and I always get my husband one of those BIG Hershey kisses.
    Love all the products!

I love the festive spirit of Valentine's Day - it brightens up a fairly grey part of the year. I put out my collection of hearts - old candy boxes, jewelry, fabrics, and paper pieces of art. My DH and I always have a candlelit dinner (actually we light candles every night during the part of the year when our ceiling fans are not running) and I fix a special dessert: chocolate mousse or creme brulee. Thanks for the eye candy and the chances to win.

We don't really celebrate Valentines day anymore BUT, I do make homemade sugar cookies and decorate them. Since this is Elizabeth's first year in college and away from home, I'm excited to put a "Valentines Box" together to ship up to her. Still working on some ideas on what to include in it.

I love Valentines day. We treat it kind of like Easter, with treat baskets full of yummy stuff and usually a stuffed animal.

Thanks Ali! I'm so glad you asked this question---I love browsing through the host of ideas people post to make holidays fabulous for their families. We usually do a small gift for the kids (I think we are going to give them a board game that we can all enjoy together) and I'm planning to order a heart shaped pizza for dinner. Of course the production of class valentines is a must too. The giveaways are all fantastic I would love to win! :)

My Hubby always takes me out for a lovely dinner and usually sends me some flowers to the office on VD. I make my own gards which i send to the nearest and the dearest, just letting them know that they are in my thoughts

Valentine's Day is big in our house. I try to make something for the kids & my husband. The kids always get a little stuffed animal & a card. My mom wasn't the most affectionate person but we always got a really sweet card on Valentine's Day with an animal & it meant a lot. My daughter is reading the last Harry Potter & is making "magical" valentines for her class this year!

We started last year making cupcakes with my daughter and deocrating them and then delivering them to friends and family at home and work. It was lots of fun! And of course eating a few!

My husband and I really don't celebrate Valentine's Day. It just doesn't feel sincere when it's so commercialized. Surprising each other in sweet ways is more meaningful to me when it's something we want to do, on any given day. That being said, we do give the kids little treats to make them feel special.

I usually get a bouquet of flowers from hubby and if we feel like it, go out for dinner. This year I want to add a new tradition, something that involves the kids. We'll make heart shaped cookies and after dinner enjoy it while we exchange love notes & gifts. Who says it's only Christmas that we can exchange gifts? :-)

Hi Ali. I love Valentine's Day. It's just my husband and I but we do celebrate. I'll buy a special little cake and some party plates and napkins and make a nice dinner. We always buy each other a nice card also.
    Happy Valentine's Day.
    Regina
