Get It Scrapped is giving away one spot in Pattie Knox's "More Mad Digital Skillz" online workshop.

Pattie Knox’s favorite part of digital scrapbooking is learning new techniques for creating realistic--as in “I can’t believe that’s not paper!”--layouts. In “More Mad Digital Skillz,” you’ll learn how to create torn edges on your photos and papers, how to insert photos into type, Pattie’s method for digital dry embossing, and much more about making your own brushes, working with custom shapes, and creating depth and interest with texture. Each lesson is accompanied by beautiful digital products from the talented artists at Designer Digitals—including Ali Edwards! Class starts May 25th at Get It Scrapped!

My main journaling tip is to just do it and do as much of it as you can! I've been reorganizing my albums and am finding my favorite ones are the most journaling heavy.

My best journaling tip is to JUST DO IT! I have to set aside my need for it to be perfect and just get it done. I have so many LO's with no journaling because I was waiting for thr perfect thing to say.

Write it down when it happens--take a little notebook on vacation, keep one with you to write down the cute things your kid says. Because as much as you think you will remember it....it disappears! And it is much easier to journal if you have the material to begin with.

My tip is just to get in the habit of journaling daily or when things happen - then that provides ample "stuff" so that when I go to document photos or occurrences - I have all of that right there.

What fun giveaways! My favorite tip is to always carry a notebook in my purse, to jot down notes about funny things people say or things I want to remember. It becomes a great starting point for journaling on my layouts! -Sharyn

When you get your pictures printed, if its going to be a while before you actually can scrap them, write your thoughts about the picture on a post it or something similar and attach to the back of the photo. This would also help with identification of people...I have pictures from years ago that I wish I had done this with because I can't remember a lot of peoples names from college/internships/etc.

My best story telling tip - don't stress it. Sometimes you will want to write, other times the title can say it all. I think it's okay to have minimal journaling as long as your reason behind the layout is accomplished. I am very interested in the TTT kits and the Blue Moon stuff, too! How fun! Thanks, Ali!

As I am working on a layout, I'll sometimes tell the story out loud and then I write as I'm telling it. I also keep notebooks in various locations including the car and my purse. I write everything down and use it for reference when I'm working on the layout.

I like to journal it on the computer, date it, and edit later to fit the page. I find it easier to edit when journaled on the computer.

When I was backpacking in Europe for two months last year, I had a journal that I carried around with me at all times. Each time I would encounter something interesting, funny or breathtaking, I would jot down my exact thoughts, or what was said. I would describe places and events in detail so that I would never forget what I was experiencing at that moment. Now I have that journal as a keepsake and I can use what I wrote in it for when I need to journal in my Eurotrip scrapbook!

The sooner I write down feelings and thoughts after an event, the better and more heartfelt my journaling is. My blog really helps with this and the writing for me just flows better when I typing it. Later I use my blog as a reference, and that's my favorite way to add journaling.

I like to carry around a notebook to record memories as they happen so when it comes time to journal for a layout, I can remember the little details. Also, when I get stuck on what to write, I pretend I am telling a friend about the story and it seems to flow better for me. I can edit it afterwards but at least the thought is down on paper (or in the computer!).

My blog has become my best journaling spot. I am so far behind on my pictures but I post them to my blog often and more quickly and do the "journaling" there before I've forgotten all the details. It's so easy then when it's time to make a layout I just find my entry and there was the journaling. I either print it out or write it out in my handwriting. I also love pockets with tag for when I have a lot to say!

I love doing 'interviews' with the kids and using a scrapbook page to play out their thought process. It is amazing to look back on.

i am a total "stream of consciousness" journalist and writer...i just let the thoughts flow and write, not worrying about sentence structure or punctuation...
sometimes i will use the writing as it...other times i will use it to form those complete sentences!
    Thanks for the giveaways Ali!

I love documenting as much as I can, but the more kids I have the harder it seems (for me) to document everything I want.
One of my favorite things to do is after editing our photos, if one photo really speaks to me and demands my immediate attention to document that moment, I take the photo into Photoshop and type text over the image documenting what I feel needs to be documented. Later I can just print the photo with the text and add it to a layout or album.
I really love how it turns out! And thanks (as always) for the giveaways!

Perspective. It doesn't have to be from your perspective. It could be someone in the picture-go ask them what they think of when they look at the photo. It could be from a reporters perspective. Anything goes.

I don't type my journaling often but I should because when I type it, I let it sit for a day and then I come back to it. I am able to make it flow and have more emotion that way!
