Found : I Love My Home
I found this sweet drawing in Simon's backpack today. A great reminder of all that we have to be thankful for in our lives. Can you tell which one is me?
Around here summer is currently speeding up our schedules rather than slowing them down. Preparations are in full-swing for a bunch of different family adventures.
I'm also in the middle of putting together the Stories of Summer posts which will begin next Monday and run through July 6th. I'm really excited about the mix of content, including a bunch of new faces & names you might not have seen before.
I had a really nice time at Technique Tuesday's BLISS event this past weekend. My Storyology class was well-received and I hope to take some time in the coming months to get it ready in a PDF/video presentation format and make it available as a downloadable class. I was reminded once again how amazing this hobby is in the way that it brings people together.
And these two, well, they're ready for nicer weather and anything happening outside.
This is a keeper! :D

Simon's drawing is such a treasure! I'm curious... did it come out of his backpack like that or did you need to iron it? I'm retired from teaching but I used t watch the little ones 'cram' their papers in their backpacks. If this starts to happen you can put an empty paper towel roll in his pack and show him how to roll his papers around it.
Anna in a swimming suit is the cutest! Wow, Simon is getting so tall!

Love it ... especially how Anna is drawn in as a happy Mexican jumping bean. Too cute!

I love Simon's picture, especially how he drew you. Can't wait to see what your adventures are going to be. Love the bathingsuit photo, Simon is built just like my son Sam, you can see all bones and spine and his ribs, he eats all day and night but doesn't gain any weight. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to summerstories.

What a great photo. I love that your photos capture such awesome stories -- like Anna's and Simon's age/size difference, emphasized by where Simon gets cut off in the picture, and that it doesn't prevent them from being super cute friends ready to get some sun!
I'm excited to find out exactly what your Storyology class is all about!

Ali, you are so good for me - and by extension, my family. I am working on a project of collected artwork by my brilliant, sensitive and quite good looking grandchildren. Making recycled chipboard covers, and putting in several of the pages of art, along with photos of the creators "in process" I am doing it for the moms, but I KNOW I won't really want to give them up once they are done...

Ali I absolutely loved the Storyology class. It really inspired me to pull out my pen & paper more often and to bring stories back to my scrapbooks, instead of just pictures & embellishments. Believe it or not I have my composition book with me in my purse and have not stopped carrying it around since your lecture. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I think you just improved my life more then you know! :)
(tell Chris to keep thinking of hobbies!) :)

oh my goodness! What an amazing memory to treasure. Simon might not always love his home (teenagers can be fickle), but this is something to hold on to.
