Here in California the seasons don't change that much, but I'm looking forward to a bit warmer weather. I love sweaters, but I also love being warm.

Not exactly looking forward to the impending 40 degrees C plus heat, but am very much looking forward to the swimming pool water warming up so that my children can enjoy going in it!

Watching the grass magically appear as the snow melts away.

When I was little girl I dreamed about having my March 22nd birthday party as a picnic under the tree in our backyard. I've never managed it - ever. What my family doesn't know is that, despite their annual teasing, I still watch the snow and keep my fingers crossed that maybe, just maybe, it'll happen "this year".

(That and the moment when I can wear shoes, without fear of salt damage, and ditch the socks and heavy winter boots!)

I'm most excited about longer days. I love to see daylight before I go to work in the morning and after I get home -- long after I get home!

I'm excited to see the city water line to our house THAW so that we don't have to use water hooked up by a (new and clean) garden hose from our neighbor's house to ours. Even with keeping our water running day and night it wasn't enough for the frigid temperature last month. Yep, the water froze Feb. 5, we've been doing the hose water since then. The spring thaw: THAT'S what I'm excited for!

Heading out of the cold months here in Canada, I most look forward to the welcoming signs of spring in the form of tulip and daffodils poking their little heads up thru the cold soil looking for the long awaited for warmth of the sun. As our days get a bit longer and warmer, I watch with anticipation as the blooms open on the magnolia trees, and the leaves start stretching and greening on the trees.
