Welcome to the first-ever Technique Tuesday Studio AE Blog Hop!
Today, the Studio AE team is joining with me to show some projects we made with April’s Studio AE stamp set. Check out my project and then check out the links below which will take you to the other blogs. Leave a comment on each one for a chance to win the You Always Know by Ali Edwards stamp set from Technique Tuesday (more info below).
The new stamp set for April is called, “It’s in the Details by Ali Edwards.”
The set consists of 13 clear stamps. The set works great for scrapbook pages as well as cards.
The set ships to Studio AE members between the 10th and the 15th. Non-Studio AE members can also purchase the set for a limited time through the Technique Tuesday Web site. Some retailers are also now offering the Studio AE stamp sets for purchase. Check with your favorite retailer for more details about that.
Here’s the layout I worked up using one of the stamps in this set:
And a couple close-ups:
To create the stamped square I used a few different inks from Close To My Heart and stamped onto a piece of cream cardstock. To extract the square I used the Marvy Extra Giga Square Punch (I used that for the other two squares as well).
I drew a little line in black pen to create a frame. I like doing that.
I drew a couple circles around the “girl” embellishment too.
I did the journaling last on this page. I almost called it good without the main portion of journaling. And then I thought to myself, “why make it in the first place if I’m not going to write out the reason I felt like it was worth making?” So that’s exactly how I started my journaling:
JOURNALING | Why is this special? What do I want to say here and why do I want to keep this memory? I love to see where we are right now – Anna and her new Dora shoes that she loves and me in my new heels that I love. Someday, not too far from now, she’ll be in heels too…or want to be. She already wants her toes painted. Soon sweet baby, soon. For me it’s about me and her and how happy I am that she is in my life.

i love this page Ali. love the elements and i really, really love the endearing sentimentality of the words and pictures. you really transcend the essence of what is scrapbooking for me in what seems like such a simple and heartfelt manner and yet there is so much complexity in the details. it is truly beautiful.
I loved the photos when you showed them on the blog and I love the layout you’ve created with them.
I just got my first set of AE stamps from 2Peas; can’t wait to use them to scrap. Thanks for the chance to win!

Wonderful set and great layout- a lot of fun!
love how you stamped the words in different colors and punched them with the “giga square” (must have). I also so love your thoughts about little Anna. I feel the same way about my two granddaughters (1-1/2 and almost 7). I had sons and I’m so loving all the girl stuff. I want them to stop growing up!
Thanks for the chance to win.
Very cute layout. I really like this stamp set and can see myself using it again and again.
Lovely layout like usual. Would love to win a stamp set of yours, thanks for the chance.
It looks like a great set! Thank you!
lovin’ this stamp set and the page you’ve created. thanx for the inspiration to start scrappin’ again. I’ve been hooked on cardmaking and should get back to capturing everyday moments again! I’ve got my fingers crossed for the sweet blog candy!
I really enjoy your perspective on memories – tying them to the past and looking ahead to the future. It more closely reflects what life is, a continuum. thanks for sharing!
Those feet pics are precious. Love the entire project.
I have loved and followed your style for many years now. Because of you and your colleague Becky Higgins, I have engaged in very focues reflection of my own style (several months…but Ididn’t stop my work). I have moved away from ‘beautiful’ pages with the latest embellishments and techniques to simply getting my pictures ON the pages and documenting the stories, the thoughts, what was said and what was felt.
THANK YOU for triggering my journey of reflection!
I love the idea of the photo of your respective favorite shoes and feet. I can see a photo of matching pedicures soon as well.
I am never quite sure of the “hop” portion of the blog hop, but this makes sense. Thanks for the opportunity. I am off to check Nichol’s blog next…
Thanks for the opportunity to post and give the blog hop a try. Love the layout and the stamps…cool beans…
