The Striped PJ's
The other day I was folding Simon's PJ's and I was thinking about how much he loves them.
One pair of stripes. Two pairs. Three pairs. Four pairs. Oh yes, there's more.
They've seen holidays and everydays and vacations and airplanes and so many movies and breakfasts and maybe even a few dinners.
Some pairs are just about ready to be retired and a couple new ones have been added to the rotation.
He loves to put them on in the evening and will wear them as long as possible on the weekends.
Only the long sleeve and long pants sets - no short sleeves and shorts for him.
Sometimes I wonder if he'll want to keep wearing these into adulthood - lucky for him they actually make them in adult sizes.
Here's to loving something in your own life as much as Simon loves his PJ's.
Here's to celebrating all the little stuff that makes up the bulk of our lives.
GO SIMON GO.
What's a simple something in your own life, or that of someone you love, that you encounter just about everyday that you could document today?
Hi Ali. I too am a big fan of stripy pj's. Especially on my kids- they make them more snuggly i think! Where do you buy Simon's from? I am running out of new places to search.
Take Care, Mel
Ali Shared this before - they're from Hanna Andersson. We love their Pjs in this house too. We have some stripes and some cute prints. They are super cuddly.

I recognize those Hannah Anderssons. My Ryan will only were them as well. Even in the summer and we live in Florida! But I have had to tell him there will be no more once he grows out of them. He is twelve and while they do make adult sizes, the cost is doubled! Enjoy them!

Oh, what a sweet post. That boy of yours regularly puts a smile on my face. Thank you, Simon (and Simon's mom)!

I enoucounter baseball type caps!! Dozens of them. My husband likes to wear one that matches his clothes of the day. He is never seen outside without a cap. And, of course, he looks really cute in them. LOL

My 14 year old son is a PJ lover, too! He would wear them all day if he could. Actually, I change into jammies at the first possibility too. Go Simon!

These pj's do look snuggly and cute. I love how Simon loves them and lounging in them.
Something around my house would be my one daughter's collection of bobby pins and hair bands, they are everywhere and she has to have them with her all the time. My other daughter is the biggest bookworm in the family so it would be her books, everywhere we go she has at least 3 of them and she keeps a huge stack beside her bed and a few in her backpack for school. My son it would be whatever toy he's playing with at that time, they go everywhere with him. Thanks Ali for this idea.

My son used to love pj's too but now he just wears a t shirt and loose shorts.
He only wears t-shirts now---maybe that's what I need to document.
Thanks Ali-- for the idea to do this documentation!

I have a 2 year old and he LOVES bubbles. I actually have rekindled my love for bubbles too b/c I so enjoy watching him giggle while running through them. It is a daily activity for us and one I will surely miss when he out grows them.

i love them, too, and i bought many of them until my kids said no more stripey pj's. they moved on to old t-shirts and loose fitting pj pants... which is fine, too, but not as fun to look at in the morning ;-)

i love to read these posts about simon. i think he has the most beautiful smile. because you shared his stories i was able to help a friend to get her son diagnosed. she got a bit pissed a me at first, but today he is doing, among other things, verbal therapy, and his relationship with family and friends is getting better and better. thank so, so much, ali!
and love the prompt at the end of the post - i'll definitely think about it.
Isn't it wonderful when you can be the connection, providing information learned from Ali to your friend who needed that information, in this case?

My kids wore Hanna A's too...and my kids are 28 and 25.....some of my best memories are them wearing their comfy, cute, striped jammies. I especially loved the little one piece ones....enjoy these years, as they pass all too quickly!

My boys are all grown up so its been MANY years since I bought them pj's. But I have to ask as I just took a trip down memory lane remembering LOVING The Kids Gap Store, those jammies look like maybee they came from the Gap. Gosh I loved to shop there when they were little. Thanks so much for sharing the "little" stuff that actually is the "big" stuff. Go Simon GO!!!

Sneakers. I encounter them in different places in the house more than I'd like. Shoes go by the door. Everything has it's place-or so I think. When I run into a sneaker in a place it's really not supposed to be, I get a gentle reminder that they're kids and they could care less because they're too busy having fun. Sigh and a smile.

Oh I have that something...LOL. My 4 year old son needs to "tuck" his long pj pants into his socks ALL THE TIME, EVERYDAY. After he stopped wearing baby sleepers at 2, he had to tuck the bottom of pants into his socks all the time. Sometimes he has to wear his tucked pj pants under his khakis or jeans because he refuses to take his pjs off! He'll even ask to tuck his jeans into his socks. And he can only wear long sleeves too or at least have a sweater on over his t-shirts. We don't know what we're going to do this summer! So I know how you feel about only long sleeve pj & pants. LOL. =)

Grandpa got my kids a game called "Shut the Box". It's a quick game that we have to play at least once. Either during breakfast before school or after school with a snack. I think I document that today!
I'm positive you would enjoy it. We got a really simple one, it's not fancy at all. It has helped both of my kids (7 and 11) learn math strategy. We've had it for about 4 years. A little caution is that once you play a game you want to keep on trying to 'shut the box'. I hope you get it and enjoy it!
I just heard about that game recently Michelle - I think it was my sister in law who was talking about it. Need to go investigate.

My mom and I made my daughter receiving blankets for her before she was born. They aren't anything fancy just flannel blankets surged around the edges. I never thought about documenting those blankets. Thank you for the great idea. We don't go anywhere with out them. She loves them!
I don't know how old your daughter is -- I highly recommend documenting the blankets NOW. If your daughter is like Son #1, she's going to be sleeping with them when they are threadbare, so worn that using them as rags would be futile.
Son #1 is 18. The edges were hand crocheted. The edges are almost completely separated from the rest of the threadbare fabric. He will not part with them. I did manage to trade one dreadful blanket for another that isn't nearly as worn. But I am not allowed to touch the others!

I love the look of those striped PJ's, they sure look comfy. I wish I could find something just as cute here in Norway, for my boy that also love to spend the weekend in his sleep wear :D

Me - Coffee & my workout...everyday, same routine, must have it!
Daughter - Disney movies...Toy Story, Tangled, or pretty much any Pixar movie out there right now.
My Husband - Soda at dinner! He's actually went cold turkey off of caffeine recently, I thought I'd never see the day! LOL

Love, love, love stripey jammies! With two kids 2 years apart, our washing machine is always swirling with stripey Hanna's in 3 different sizes. One night as we left for dinner the jammies were still drying, so I asked our 3 year old to tell the babysitter which were hers and which were her 1 year old brothers. We came home to the 3 year old asleep in her brother's new, very snug size 80s. I almost woke her up I laughed so hard...clever little thing was playing a trick on us!

I encounter lego people everyday in some of the most random places. I have three boys, so its no wonder. I do really need to take photos of these tiny people in my life - especially the indiana-jones-gun holding Jenny Wessley hiding out in my jewerly box the other day. Who knows what the story was there!!!!
I wish there was a "like" button on here :).
