Week In The Life 2012 | Monday Words + Photos
NUMBER OF PHOTOS FOR MONDAY | 184 regular camera + 20 or so on my iphone
That's a whole lot of photos.
I felt calm today. I tried not to obsess about the content. I tried to simply be mindful. I grabbed my camera lots of times when I would have normally just left it alone.
I can tell Simon is getting older because he's starting to put his hand up in front of his face and say no.
As you'll see, I'm taking quite a few self-portraits. I used the self-timer on all those shots. I can't find my wireless remote - I need to go through some of my jacket pockets and see if I can locate it. For most of the self-portrait shots I took between one and three before moving on with whatever I was doing in my life at the time (vs. going on and on to get the "perfect" capture). The two of me at Anna's soccer practice were taken by Chris.
These photos are un-edited. There's a few that I'll probably lighten up or crop when I have a bit more time before actually printing them.
I ran out of time last night to get my words scanned in - I'll do that Tuesday morning and add it to this post.
Here's a few of my Monday photos (from morning to evening in order):
It was a good, regular day around here. So thankful for the sun.

I love that you had warm sunny photos to start your week, we have cold and very windy temps right now. Please send me some sunshine!! How pretty all the flowers are in your yard, looks like summertime.
Great self photos of yourself, love the angles you used. I took one in the car just like yours also. Still learning how to use my iphone for pictures and how to download them. Just got instagram last night finally.
How awesome that Chris and you are both at the practices and he takes these photos for you. Can't stress enough how good and lucky that is.
Love the ones of the kids in bed and you and Anna holding hands and Simon hugging you. Great photos to start the week Ali...
Enjoy your Tuesday!

Thanks for sharing your day Ali, i love your morning picture! Hugs from Hungary :)
Hi DAnett,
My family is from Budapest! I would love to visit Hungary some day! That's cool that you are doing WITL! I am starting my WITL on Monday because this week is not normal for us. My husband is out of town. I am very excited to start and look forward to continuing the journey by getting inspiration from everyone else! This will be my first time. :-) Enjoy your journey!

Great photos, Ali! I'm always amazed at how many photos you end up taking through out the day. I guess it's harder for me to get so many photos in since I'm at work for 9 hours each day and can't really take pics there, but it would be nice to get that many to have lots to choose from!

George - like any cat- sure knows the good sunny spots in the house. Great photos. Today I tackle using my timer more.

Quick question about the 31 Things class. How long after the class is over can you access the class? My daughter is having a baby (a boy! due June 8th) and I will be out of town, away from my computer. Thanks!
Indefinitely - they don't close the classrooms (but the teachers don't continue to participate after the class date and no new content is added).

I took 50 photos yesterday, obviously nowhere near your total Ali, but I really didn't think I would take that many.
I have also discovered very quickly that I'm not going to be putting them in my book on a daily basis. In fact I doubt I'll be adding my link until Thursday! At least that means there will be lots to record ;)

What great shots of your WITL. I did manage to take some photos but not as great as yours turned out. I may not be able to complete this though I try every year. Let's see if I can do it this year.
Morning Lida - please remember that it's not a competition :). It's not about taking the best or the most or on and on. It's about finding the joy in your own life and practicing "seeing" it through the lens. You can do it -

Ali-
This is my first try at WITL as well as the format I am using (Instagram only on my iPod). I am planning on using PostalPix (Thanks to a "pick" you had on Papercliiping). I am using the hashtag #weekinthelife. How or where do my pictures show up?
yes....where on Instagram do they show up?
Do you mean where do they show up on Instagram?
I should have said I am using the above hashtag and planning on using Postalpix for printing once this is all said and done.

Thanks for the inspiration ALi! Great captured moments you have here today. This is my first time to join in the fun. I'm really enjoying it. My hubby is a little amused but because he loves me, he's playing along too *-*. God bless you and your family always!

Dear Ali,
First time I comment here, although I've been coming here for months now, looking for inspiration and dreaming with your projects. I participated in One Little World last year, making also a December Daily (and finished it beginning of January) and I "jumped" into the Project Life adventure (and I'm still on - just finished week 16 before writing this comment), all these thanks to you I can say. I really admire all your creations, they are real inspirations for me. Thank you for everything. And your photos of Monday are beautiful. Again very inspiring.
Hi Marie - just wanted to say thanks for commenting :).

Love your "everyday" photos, and that you are capturing yourself in them too. I need to be better about that!

Thank you for posting your unedited pics. Obsessing over trying to get good shots and spending too much valuable time trying to edit, I think, is one of my biggest hinderances to getting our lives documented.
Working on that this week.

This post is really inspiring and helpful for me this morning. I too am going through a really hard season. Some mornings it takes all of my focus just to breathe it seems. Because of that I haven't been picking up my camera much at all. Had no desire to blog. What would I write about, how difficult life is right now? That's just not a good idea. But, coming to your blog this morning and looking thru the pics you've posted, I'm encouraged. I see there is life still going on around me and there is happiness in it in places. Your pictures focus on that. The places where joy can be found. Thank you, Ali.
You are welcome - peace to you.

I started over the weekend (and posted a link to my blogpost about it). You have captured some lovely light!
If you're doing a Q&A, I'd love to know where's the best/easiest place to order prints from my phone (now that scrapbook pictures is gone).
Thanks,
Rinda

I love how you shared about your day. Seeing your kids head off to school and then come home makes me realize how soon mine will be old enough to do that.
