Project Life 2012 | Week Twenty-One

Welcome to Project Life 2012 | Week Twenty-One.

Catching up a bit today with the story from the week of Memorial Day weekend. Lots of photos.

Here’s a look at our week (click on any image to view it larger):

One thing you’ll find I used a bunch of this week are the Studio Calico Abroad Anywhere Natural Chipboard Thicker Stickers. I had two packages here and needed that many for the amount of “e’s” I used. Love the plain chipboard look – especially for beach photos. I added a line of machine stitching to each one with my sewing machine.

Just a couple journal cards from the start of the week and then I pretty much went right into the weekend. Love that red arrow from Basic Grey’s What’s Up Die Cut Transparencies.

The “love this” stamp underneath is from the new Life Right Now Studio AE June 2012 stamp set with Color Box chalk ink.

The yellow arrows are from the week before (outline arrows cut with the Silhouette).

Two American Crafts 6×12 page protectors became home for lots of beach photos.

Used some of my new Beach Outline Banners this week. Excited to play with those on the Silhouette too.

The writing on the photo with Simon is a brush from a new set called Heart You that will be available at Designer Digitals this weekend.

Added a Gratitude Circle to this photo of Anna and my Mom.

Love that photo of Anna. Need to blow it up for the walls.

Jounaling on a photo. When I take photos I like to think about how I can set up the shot to give me room for journaling right onto the photo. The sky is great for that.

The “friends = goodness” is from Thank You Friend. The cute little stitched heart is Pebbles With Love Hearts.

love it! one question – i tried to stitch over some letters and it jammed in my machine, are you using a different needle?

      Ali said…

Nope – same needle that I always use but you do have to push it through a bit (hold tight to the paper and push gently).

Ali, I love your Project Life pages. The love you have for your family and theirs for you just shines through! I have not yet started a project like this, but am considering starting one while I watch my two granddaughters three days a week this summer. I would like to document our time together.

Especially love these pages of your PL but then, I’ve loved all of it! Your unique style shines through, even in a project like this, and you’ve done an amazing job. I’ve enjoyed watching your PL pages come to life this past year. So glad you had such a nice weekend at the coast. Your documentation of the time you spent there, with your parents and kids,is truly wonderful. :-)

I don’t know if you’ve talked about this before (I don’t think you have), but could you talk about your process of building a week spread? My situation is different because I will be printing through an outside source. I’m having a hard time getting started because I don’t know how to plan/design a week and then send it to print. I would imagine you design/print as you go, determining what you want for balance, color, etc. I know Cathy Zielske and MaryAnn Perry print at home too. I love the way all three of you design pages, but I just don’t know how to make mine look similar without it being a major affair. I’ve considered getting a new printer for good quality photos, but I’ve read you aren’t necessarily sure it would be cheaper or e,ven the same amount of $ to print at home. This is a huge consideration for us as well as the time factor. I have 3 kids (almost 4) six and under so I just don’t have the time to spend hours each week, but I really want to add some graphic elements to my spreads. Any advice? Would you consider doing a video on your design/layout process? I think at would be really interesting!
