One Little Word® 2017 | The Reading Of The Words
One of the traditions that has been built over the last few years surrounding One Little Word® is the reading of the words by my friend Liz Lamoreux.
This year she asked me if she could read the words out of order and I said, "Go for it! Let's mix it up."
If you are still pondering a word for yourself for 2017 I highly suggest you push play, close your eyes and listen. You might connect with a word you hadn't considered previously. Please note that Liz is reading from the list of words I compiled from my previous blog post (collected up to a certain point in the day yesterday). If we missed your word it was unintentional.
Listen to Liz read a list of the words here.
If you don't see your word listed below feel free to add your word to the comment section of this post:

The word I'm holding in my hands at the top of this post is from my friend Colleen Attara. She's been supporting this project for a number of years by bringing wholehearted goodness in the form of words made from reclaimed materials and I'm happy to continue sharing her talents with you.
As many of you know I am also offering custom acrylic words (hand-drawn by me) in the shop in two sizes. These are the same acrylic material that we include in my monthly Story Kits™. People have been ordering family names, places, and other special words as well as their word for 2017.
Also, there is absolutely still time to join the One Little Word® workshop if you are interested in making your word visible this year and sharing the journey with others. Please note that although the main kit we were offering this year is sold out, it is absolutely not a requirement for the class and that I will be providing you the downloads necessary to work through the prompts just like I have in previous years.
My word for 2017 is REVEL. Revel in the great things, the challenges, the opportunities and the obstacles. Revel in life! The reading was beautiful!

My word this year is Give. I want to give my self permission to be myself. To find a cause and teach my kiddos what it means to give to others. I want to give more of myself to my family and to put my phone down. I love this idea of giving.

My word for 2017 was love. It worked for me with my two grandchildren that live with me...not so much otherwise. I have chosen a word that I have more control over...I hope. It is priority. I have just discovered I have kidney disease stage 3. I now have to DO all the things I have worried about for 45 years. And I have to do them now...especially the photos organized and scrapbooks done. Yesterday I only did one page and half of another. This will not work. It is hard with journaling...I prefer typing and the printer is banding and it is new. It is terrible to be 64 with a disease that they say you will die from when you thought you were well. I have never drank and no diabetes. I will be seeing new doctors...and did not follow my word yesterday and use priority to plan the doc visits. : ( Geesh I hope I do better at this.

My word is light. I want to be a light, to reflect His light. I want to fill my life with more service and do a better job of encouraging, lifting, and strengthening those around me

My word for 2019 is proceed. I've gone through a lot of stuff in life, including the death of three of my grandparents, one of which was my idol and hero. For a while, I was depressed not only because of that, but also because of my stress in school, and my teacher who made my life hell. In my religion, you have to stay where your relative died for thirteen days for ceremonies. A year after their death, you have to do another four day ceremony. There was one at my house (for my grandma) last year, so that made things even harder for me. Now that chapter of my life is over, and I want to become a better person. I want to heal, and be happy for myself.
