Project Life® 2017 | Week Two

Welcome to Project Life® 2017 | Week Two.

Where's Week One? I included an overview of my Week One in the Story Classroom for the Numbers Story Theme. Each month in the classroom I include a Project Life® process video showing how I used products from the Story Kit™ to tell a weekly story in my album (sometimes it's a current year spread and sometimes it's from a past year where I'm filling in the gaps).

One of the things I'm hoping to do in my Project Life® album this year is use up some of my personal product stash. You'll see things this week that are products currently available in my shop and ones that are from present and past Story Kits™ and other past projects. I'm still waiting for the Project 52 Fresh Edition Core Kit to arrive and then I will also incorporate some of those cards from week to week.

Here's a look at Week Two:

Story Kit™ subscribers will know that I'm using number labels throughout the month of January on each of my photos (the theme this month is numbers and the kit includes 32 number labels). I've never used a consistent design element over the course of a month in Project Life® (that I can remember) so that's a little something different and fun to consider as you tackle your own album and stories.

One of the things that was going through my mind as I was working on this week was that I really do want to keep it simple and focused on filling the pockets (something I talk a bunch about in Storytelling With Project Life® workshop that will open for registration soon). Even a silly quick story like "got my hair done" is something that can fill a pocket. I'm hoping to get back into a weekly routine to stay a bit more up to date with this project (for me that is always easier in the beginning of the year than the end of the year).

Along with the number label stickers I added small epoxy day of the week circles from the Review Story Kit™. "Ready Set Go" card is from the January 2016 Digital Kit, the Here's The Story card is from a paper pad (now sold out), and the yellow lined card is from the Read Story Kit™.

The black text pattern paper is from Photo Play Paper (ordered via Scrapbook.com).

The title card this week is from the Numbers Story Kit™ with a "shine bright" chipboard piece from the Sparks Story Kit™.

The "let's do it" card is from a past Studio Calico Documenter kit. Others are detailed below.

Gold foil Friday card from the 2016 Week In The Life™ Kit (a few of those kits are still available - they are not year specific).

I'm also thinking about using one sheet per week from my "Gratitude" 3x4 notepad (notepad includes 72 sheets). I like that idea that one thing would be the same in every spread over most of the weeks - a consistent element throughout the whole of the album. Hard to go wrong with a weekly gratitude practice.

"Yes" card is from the January 2016 Digital Kit and the Here We Go card is from a paper pad in the Drive Story Kit™.

Thanks again for being part of this community!

I am so in love with your Project Life posts! I love everything you do (of course!) but there is something about the PL pieces that really speak to me in a way that is so powerful. Keep on making + posting them - they are AWESOME!!!

Thank-you for your continuation of blogging Project Life in this space for us non-techno types. Admittedly behind ... BUT not feeling I CAN'T catch-up! I found myself counting your WEEK2 PHOTOS since I've missed photo opts for a variety of reasons so far in 2017 or the inability to get the shots I was striving. Attempting to NOT OVER THINK the process, but you realize how hard it is for us perfectionists to accept and move on.

Love this! I started this project at the beginning of last year and have actually stuck with it, mostly because I get so much inspiration from your PL layouts. Looking forward to seeing more in 2017 :)

I love how you're using the Number story kit label thingies throughout the whole month! I like that element of consistency. I can't wait for my kit to get here!

Thank you for sharing your spread with us! I need to get to work on mine since I've been sick since the 4th. Thankfully I am over it and have the energy to get some scrapping work done.

    Much love, Jenn

It can be done! I haven't bought anything except the Story Kits for just over a year. Only card stock, photo paper, and printer ink. I don't have a huge stash that isn't Ali's-I use some here and there. I love it! I see good stuff now and again, but no longer feel like actually buying it. More words. Less "stuff".

I love the idea of a gratitude card in each spread. Going to do that.

Love this! Is "week 02" brush (at the top of this post) part of a set that's in the shop right now?

YAY for using what you have. Using the stash! YEs Yes, YES! Thank you for setting that example. We love the new stuff but hoard it because it's new and fun and pretty. Ali Edwards materials is what I'm going to use up this year....you know....to make room for the new stuff later on! haha.
