Ali's Fodder School Challenge Projects

Over the past couple of weeks I've been participating in the Fodder School Free Challenge and wanted to bring all the projects together in one post and share them here on the blog (I've been sharing over on Instagram in real time).

This was my first time participating (I think it's the third year it's happened) and I loved it so much! Lots of mixed media play and a great way for me to engage with my own creativity in a different way.

I started out adding some of the pieces into my Daily Pages notebook and other projects were stand-alone adventures. As you'll see below I also ended up adding a few of them to a 6x8 album and I love the fact that they have a home rather than living in a pile (you know I love a good pile).

Here's a look at what I made - each one of these is my interpretation of the daily challenge. I loved watching the videos and simply being inspired to make something - anything - and most of the time using what I already had in my stash.

WATER COLOR LEAVES with TIFFANY SHARPE

COLLAGED NOTEBOOK COVERS with BARB SMUCKER

FLOATING QUOTES with ALISON BOMBER

WOVEN FODDER PAPERS with SARAH GARDNER

MIXED MEDIA TOKENS with KECIA DEVENEY

And then I was so excited I made another whole page and punch those out into 2 inch circles that got used in some other projects during the challenge.

GELLI PRINTED FABRIC RIBBONS with YETUNDE RODRIGUEZ

For this one I ended up experimenting on printable fabric sheets because that was all the fabric I had on hand. Looking forward to trying this with actual fabric.

GRATITUDE MEDALS with JENNIFER WILKIN PENICK

This one might have been my favorite.

MINI TAG BOOK with MEGAN QUINLAN

MINI COLLAGE ART with CHRIS KARPIAK

BELLY BAND with DI VENTER

FODDER MOBILE with SUSANNE RANDERS

I ended up hanging this outside my office as a reminder of how I felt during this challenge.

MIXED MEDIA TAG SERIES with SHAY MICHELLE

GIVING A FEW PROJECTS A HOME

In addition to adding those first few challenges to my Daily Pages notebook I decided to see what happened if I used some of our page attachers (click notify me on the product page to be notified when those are back in stock) to add a couple of these finished things into a 6x8 album

How is it that everything here looks bright and gorgeous? All of my mixed media efforts turn to mud. I guess I need to take a class on how to use the materials since I don't know where to start. Any ideas?
