Project Life® 2013 | Week Thirty-Six (Studio Calico Project Life® Kit)
Welcome to Project Life® 2013 | Week Thirty-Six (August 26 - September 1).
Each month during 2013 one of my Project Life® weeks will be using the Studio Calico Project Life® kit.
You can check out all the new kits for November (called Cuppa) over at Studio Calico here: Scrapbook Kit | Project Life® Kit | Card Kit
Here's a look at Week 36:
Last week I shared my love of post-it notes for working through weeks in this album that I've not yet tackled. It's been a good strategy for me.
I also like the simplicity of sticking with a kit (at least for some of my weeks). There's something really great about being able to have fewer choices to make overall - I think it helps me stay focused on the photos and the stories (especially with products that lend themselves to helping get those stories told).
This week includes a lot about Anna. It was her first week starting at a new school. I was so excited for her to begin this new adventure.
This kit includes the 01, 02, and 03 cards. I cut each of those in half and placed them on top of three 3x4 photos. The top half of each card was used for the journaling on other 4x6 photos (stapled on with the Tiny Attacher).
My weekly title card includes awesome little silver stars and circle punched patterns from a navy blue + star 4x6 card in the kit.
I adhered the XOXO flag on top of a wood camera circle.
This kit also includes a great set of day of the week epoxies. I cut a bunch of them in half and added them to 4x6 photos.
Writing directly on photos with a Slick Writer. Word art added to my photo is from this set: Back To School Line Stack Brushes
The gold foil card that Kal designed is awesome. Almost put it in a frame instead of in this album.

I always love to see how you use your SC kits. So cool how your journaling follows the lines of the photos too!

Love the fun in these kits!! Admiring your handwriting, as always. I remember when I first got into scrapbooking I knew my best tool would be my handwriting.

Love, love, love this week! I think what you did with the number cards is pretty cool - thank you for the inspiration Ali! Anna looks so sweet in her uniform, hope she's still loving the new school!

Ok, so in July, over the course of one week I went from having every summer off to working 12 months, 60+ hours a week. Needless to say, the transition has been a tough one in so many ways, both for my family and me. So, to see someone else still scrapbooking August brought a huge smile to my face. I too am just putting the first days of school into my daily album. Thank you, Ali, for keeping it real and inspiring real working moms to keep at it. You are amazing and my inspiration to stay centered on what really matters.
