It is ALL Elsie's fault...

Elsie tagged me. As in TAG - you're it. A fun little game where I need to write five random things about myself and then tag someone else. Donna (blog-tag-goddess)...it is coming your way my friend.

Five Random Things About Me:

  1. As a break from scrapping today I went to the grocery store and stocked up on Amy's Organic Mac & Cheese and Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

  2. I would love to live on the coast. The Oregon coast. The air there is pure magic. Just so peaceful and fresh. I always feel whole again after a visit. Being SO busy right now makes me long for it even more.

  3. Scary movies scare me and I don't like to be scared.

  4. I live in a sea of dog hair. Lily is shedding big time right now and I am having to sweep it up all the time. But I love her so it is all good.

  5. Right at this very moment I am sitting in the middle of a GIANT creative mess. The kind that almost makes you want to shut down because it is so overwhelming. I am looking around in here trying to think of one more random thing about myself and all I can think is that I need to clean up before I move on to the next thing.

Edited to add photos of my mess :) - thanks for allowing me to procrastinate Tina.

I love the picture with the "Quiet Mind" book in it - I'll bet there's a million ideas running through your mind right now - no room for a quiet mind!
Totally enjoy having all the stuff around you - think of all those creative possibilities! How exciting!! : )

I was wondering about your dog hair situation. I know that you're a self proclaimed neat freak and as a mama to a beautiful black lab I am constantly COVERED in dog hair. I'm not very particular but we are ALWAYs having to vaccum.. it's ridiculous. DH HATES hair.. and I feel bad for the guy.. our dog's hair is seriously everywhere.. in the bedsheets, on the kitchen counters, and yes, I even saw one in my shampoo.

If that constitutes a mess in a studio, mid-project, then I'm in trouble! It usually takes me twice as long to clean up from my creativity as it does to get the finished product : )
I always like seeing pics of your beautiful work space. Good luck with all of your assignments!

Your mess looks like my mess and it is great! You have to work through the mess to be creative my dear, that's just how us scrapbookers are. Have you tried Amy's organic salsa? It is the bomb! I make a weekly trip to the grocery store for Ben and Jerry's too, so I am right with you girl. (The new flavors that are light, 25% less fat are pretty good.) As for the dog hair.... I have 2 Siberian Huskies that shed/molt like crazy during the summer. Bought a new DYSON, the purple one that is made for pets.... It is pricey...but you should see the hair it picks up when you empty the container. I was in shock the first time I vacumed with the thing. It is awesome, and it is purple my favorite color to boot! Might be something to look into.
    Hugs,
    Shannon

A good creative mess--a mess where great fun things can happen. A mess where you can see everything you need-hopefully. I totally have to pick up between bouts of scrapping to get anything more accomplished! Go Ali!!

A fine mess. I am not a scrapbook person, and when I saw that workroom, I was stunned, STUNNED I TELL YOU, at the order and organization.
    But today?
I see you are like the rest of us.
    This pleases me.

I want to live on the Oregon Coast too - so beautiful!
When you come east, you should take a little side trip to Woodstock VT - home of Ben & Jerry's - YUM!
    Good luck creating :)

Great mess!!! I want to live on any ocean, almost anywhere. I "need" to get to the sea every couple of weeks. Dog hair-HA!!! You don't have any idea until you have TWO hundred+ pound labs. I loved every ounce of them both and miss them horribly. Our pug still sheds all over my black clothes, maybe I need another one, but a black one like Elsie has. BTW-love the name Elsie. Someone reccomended The Quiet Mind and read it every day. Happy creating!

okay, here i am thinking ali is { perfection } and then i see her piles of stuff -- looks like my house except our piles are all little girl toys! and our dining room table is covered with my daughters' art supplies. even though it's messy, i just really like leaving everything out and accessible for them. it does seem to spur their creativity.
i love reading this blog, ali, and thank you for sharing so much of your life with us. i've got to go scrap now...
