It's ok.

Just have to get this one down before it gets lost amid so many other stories...

When I got home yesterday I noticed that Simon is saying something new. Something I have not heard him say before. He is saying to himself, "it's ok" or "it's ok Simon" when he gets frustrated or bumps into something, etc.  It is a phrase that has come out of my mouth many times before. As soon as he says it he seems comforted and makes moving on to the next thing easier. Comforting himself. Telling himself that it is going to be ok.

He said it a couple more times today in different situations and again tonight. Each time it takes my breath away a bit to hear that from him. It is such a good thing to hear.

And I hear myself saying, "Yep, it is ok buddy. It is all ok."

That is so sweet! I am glad you are the kind of mom who notices those things! So many of us are in such a hurry to capture the "big" memories & moments that we don't stop to notice the sweet moments like that.

Ali what a wonderful thing. I can so relate to how important these little words are!! Madison always say's "okay" when she is in a prediciment....just as we say to her.
I recently posted an autism layout in my gallery at 2Peas that I am going to link for you.....I know you will understand how important it is to me.

Yeah Simon! So good to hear him use his words that way :)
Have to tell you that Ethan was obsessed with the marble run toy when he was 3-5 as well. Just to let you know, there is a computer game called "Marble Drop" that works on the same principle - just far more complex - testing your visual-spatial skills as well as problem solving abilities to complete various Marble mazes. (Plus it has cool Leonardo type graphics) It was Ethan's next step from the physical marble runs.

Cool thing, definitely. Love that he's saying this. Something I need to tell myself more often, I think. Don't we all?
Oh, and before I forget, I wanted to know -- what kind of journal are you using for your art journal? I want to start keeping one, but I'm not sure what would work best. Thought I'd ask what you're using...see if it might work for me. Thanks A!
