Life list
Have you done a life list?
My friend Dona sent me a link this morning to this blog. It was serendipitous. I have been thinking about doing one of these - it has been on my "list of lists" to make (seriously, can you see why I think about simplifying all the time - a major work in progress for me - any one else have a list of lists?).
So I opened up a new document on my computer and am going for it right now.
Ali, thanks for sharing.. I was also blog surfing this afternoon and came across this from Chritine Adolph httphttp://christineadolph.typepad.com/
See the section on cathedrals..any mom would really appreciate this. Take Care

I have done something fairly similar to this. I had been thinking about it and wanting to do it for quite a while, and finally ended up doing it. It is called "101 Things in 1001 Days". I liked this format more because it had a definite beginning and end to chart.

There is a link to my list.

So glad to find you. Ali, thanks so much for sharing a link to my post. New life lists are popping up on the Life Lists of Cool People I Know wiki at a rapid pace. It's quite exciting.
I love the concept of sharing life lists on the wiki because you can explore ideas of other cool people and celebrate each other as you cross items off your list. I hope to see you there.

this is amazing. i am all about lists right now. working on my 29 things I did before I turned 29. basically a list of things to remind me that I accomplished a lot at 28. thanks for the constant inspiration!

so funny that you are talking about this.
I just finished Jill Smolinski's book too (as mentioned by Sandi above) you need to check out this book!
it's awesome!
and Jill has her own life list blog going so I followed along and I made one of my own last week.
It's a great exercise - really gets you thinking about the time you have here and the life you really ought to start living.
Here's her blog site:

Thanks for the motivation Ali

oh, this is a great idea. i made a shorter life list years ago. and edited it last year. but i like the idea of 100 more specific things. ali, i wonder if you will be posting yours.

A BIG shout out from Down Under Ali...This is such a great idea...though I have to be honest I keep thinking of the list Earl has made on the comedy series (sorry I wrote 'comedy series' and little Miss 12 is reading over my shoulder and has just corrected me, apparently it should read....) 'the comedy HIT SERIES' "My Name Is Earl" ;)
Now off to write my list
Hope the sun is shining on your little part of the world and in your heart.
Cheers

Looks like something else to put on my 'to do' list. This is something I can do in my spare time. Thanks for the kick Ali!

I have an older book that I've read and added my own things to that you might be interested in getting. It's called 'the wish list' (all lower case letters) by Barbara Ann Kipfer. She's the author of '14,000 things to be happy about.' I like both of these books because they are positive and fun!

Once again you have inspired me...I have been thinking and talking about making my own "life list" for quite some time...now I have one...I think that's so cool! Thanks for the push!

Pushing 60, I like to go back. No, my life is not closing and yes I still want to accomplish more but I love the idea of collecting random thoughts of the things I have done, places I have been, people who influenced me. I always thought it fairly mundane until my then 17 year old had to make a scrapbook her senior year, interviewing a relative over 55. As we skimmed highlights, it became apparent that I was "cooler" then she thought.

Great stuff here, and I absolutely loved the AEZine layout! Labels are just so dang cool.
I'm definitely a list maker. Lists of books to read (and topics to find books about), movies to watch, restaurants to try, home projects (and lists that track progress on the big ones), gift ideas, and on and on. My boyfriend and I actually share a favorite moleskine journal to keep track of all this stuff - we call it The House Book, but it's really a big ol' life book. And we love it! My only problem with lists is creating realistic ones - ones that motivate and energize me rather than those that can make me feel unable to slow down, anxious, less accomplished than I think I should be, etc. So in the spirit of celebrating where I am right now, my first list is going to be things I'm already really happy about in my life. Then it's on to the life list. :) Thanks for sharing!

I do have one. . . somewhere. I need to dig it out (and maybe turn it into an album!)

so funny, ali! my husband is not a list-making person and i am...BIG TIME. occassionally, he'll make fun of me for making "lists of lists" so i TOTALLY relate. too funny.
can't wait to share with him that someone in this gigantic world shares the same silly, kinda neurotic trait/skill.
in my mind...they keep me on top of my game so why not?
