Lots of goodness + some sickness.

One of the things I am continually inspired by on the internet are all the people doing good things, encouraging + inspiring others, and generally spreading joy.

Here's a few I have been linked to or come across lately:

Design For Mankind issue one + issue two via Sarah + Jamaica

Hope Revolution via Superhero

Slice of Life Story Challenge from Two Writing Teachers

Rebecca Sower's Day to Disconnect and her follow up post

The Simple Truths of Service

Shutter Sisters

The Art of the American Snapshot (also here)

Around here I have been getting ready for the Creating Keepsakes Convention this weekend in Portland, working on my column, and taking care of Simon. He has been home the last couple of days with some sort of gastroenteritis - lots of trips to the bathroom and one trip to the ER on Monday night to make sure it wasn't appendicitis (one of those great 11pm - 2am trips). Definitely thankful for a nap earlier in the day and Ratatouille + Photo Booth on the laptop to make the waiting time a little easier to handle.

It's pretty crazy that we have been to Urgent Care + the ER three times in the last couple months. Once for my ear infection on Christmas Eve, once for Chris' flu (which Simon got as well), and then this last time for Simon. Hoping this is the end for a long time of these sorts of visits.

Hoping you and yours are happy + healthy.

So sorry to read that Simon is having a rough go of it. Hoping he is well in not time.
We are definitely NOT healthy right now either - we've super-sized the common cold x3. Me and the twins - the three sniffly stooges!
Hang in there, Ali. Sending healthy thoughts your way!

You know what they say "things happen in threes". So maybe that will be it for urgent care visits. I hope Simon feels better soon.

Hope you are all back on the road to health!
Ali, in this post you gave some good links to doing good. I don't know if in your surfing you get to Aussie / Kiwi blogs too much, but I would really love to bring this post from Nic Howard's blog to your attention. This post also links directly to the original request for scrapping help, so you can get a flavour of what 2 countries are doing to help a bunch of kids. If you think it's worthwhile, maybe you would consider adding it to your "Blogs of Goddness". cheers :)

    Ali,
I just wanted to let you know that I am a newbie scrapbooker. I just love all the information you give of yourself. I hope everyone in your home is getting better. I just love your love and your books I got them all. I have learned a great deal from you. You are my favorite artist. I was wondering who is your favorite scrapbook artist? I also like Tricia Morris from club scrap but I don't know if she has a blog. I am still a newbie. Once again that you for sharing.

Could you please post a warning that readers should go get a box of Kleenex before clicking links? It could have saved my sleeve.
    Thanks for always inspiring.

OH I was just thinking about you after I went & saw The Art of the American Snapshot exhibit yesturday afternoon. I loved it! It made me want to take more everyday photos. It was nice seeing how people lived then. What they felt was important to them. The only good thing was you couldn't delete any photos.
I want to challenge everyone to a week of everyday photos & don't delete them!! Keep them.
    have Fun!

Oooo, so hard to go to the emergency room so many times in such a short time. We all have what we affectionately call "the crud" and it's not pleasant (coughing, gooey eyes, stuffed noses and heads) but it's not emergency room worthy, thank goodeness.
Although I was at the emergency room last week with my husband after one of his acting students slammed his hand in a door and fractured his finger. That was my book deadline day, but what can you do, say, "What are you doing, I've got a deadline?"
Can't undo that kinda of stuff. Only way out is through.
Hope you are through with E-room trips!
