Finding our rhythm.
As Simon has been saying over and over, "I am so glad she's here."
We made the transition from hospital to home on Friday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend just hanging out. Thank you so much for all the well-wishes and kind words. We are all really just so excited.
Lots of getting to know you moments. So far she is quite the little sleeper and quite the nurser - her two favorite activities. She is also really good at snuggling.
Simon is super protective of her. He makes sure to let me know that she needs help and gets very concerned when she appears to be in distress. Chris and I have had lots of "shared-look" moments as we watch Simon talk to her, tell her about whatever is on his mind at the moment, and show her his toys.
Keeping it very low key this week. Working on healing myself as I learn all about this sweet girl. Feeling really good overall (the meds definitely help this along) and taking things as easy as I can.
Thank goodness for post partum pain meds, right? :) She is so beautiful and the pic with Simon is priceless. Enjoy those sweet brother sister moments.

Anna is such a beautiful child!
My son was not quite 4 when my daughter was born, and he was always wanting to hold and talk to her.

Isn't it just an awesome feeling to see how Simon is with her already? I know my older one was the same way with his little brother. Glad to hear everyone is doing well and getting adjusted. Can't wait to see more pics!

Beautiful. I'm so happy for you, Ali and reliving my last new baby experience while looking at your photos and reading your words. I love hearing about how Simon is with her. Have you written down any of the specifics of what Simon has felt compelled to tell little Anna? I'm sure it's a treasure!

Getting to know her & taking it easy for healing & nursing is the best thing to do. I ABSOLUTLEY love the pic of Simon holding his sister & hearing that he's so protective of her. That's just wonderful. Ali, she's a beautiful baby!!! Gorgeous.
